Stormfather
here's another from the torchat today: me: If a live Elantran entered the pool outside of the city, could they also use it to travel to the cognitive realm? Brandon: Let's just say that the characters in the book do not fully understand the pool or its power.
name_here
We have reason to believe it is analogous to the Well Of Ascension, though not necessarily usable in the same manner.
Oathbringer he/him
It seems that the pool has many powers not fully explained. Two of which are: 1. It allows Elantrians to die if they so wish (painlessly) 2. It is able to speak into the minds of Elantrians which are in it, possibly connecting it to the shards of Sel
BlairJ he/him
I have always held the theory that they don't die, simply that they go somewhere else.
Leuthie
Seeing as Brandon didn't even know what the pool was when he wrote Elantris (from the annotations its simply a McGuffin that gets Raoden up to the top of the mountain to solve the problem with Aon Rao), there's not much to speculate with. Elend_Rahl he/him
I read in one of these that it's a source of a shard's power, and since the shards on Sel are shattered, maybe it doesn't have as much power as, say, the WoA did. I feel like it's linked to the reformation of the shards on Sel though. Could anyone ask BS?
