Edgedancer he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Again the problem with diamonds is they provide almost no cushioning whatsoever, they're harder than the ground is so a diamond pillar would probably just punch a hole through the building. But it's not likely to be an issue since a momentum manipulator will be joining back up with the Empire tomorrow so falling museums are all covered. It's not like it would simply be the diamond pillar appearing under it. Lucentia has a fine control of her creations, meaning the pillar would have much more give than normal diamond ever could. By the way, Timeport? He bent down and grabbed the handle, hefting the familiar weight onto his shoulder. Didn't you get it just today?
Blackhoof Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 If she made a layered lattice of diamonds held together with very thin diamond parts, and spaced out appropriately from each other, then the museum would hit the top layer, break it, then hit the second layer, break it, etc etc, forming a cushion that should slow its fall until it is fine.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 So Voidus, you responded to it in jest but what is your opinion on pony fights under Soulcaster?
Blackhoof Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I don't think that's a good idea While fun, it would not be something I could seriously view as even potentially canon. And heck, I don't think I could take it seriously as an actual part of the RP. More like a side-game, lie the OOC thread. Which would be cool I guess, for the lols, but I think an actual Epic fighting dream-arena would be better and more fun in the long-run. How often do we use the OOC thread, for instance? and being in pony form doesn't really add much to the fights- it isn't like the characters have to grapple with the realities of their new ponyness, or the fallout from it, or anything else, they are just fighting each other, but as ponies. Every single character would have the same intro post: "I am a pony! what the hell! What is this!". It would make roleplaying more difficult, as we have to remember that we don't have "arms" anymore It seems like it doesn't have much value beyond the initial lols, which I think would fade quickly. Meh, it just seems like it would make the whole concept really silly and too light-hearted to take seriously as an RP.
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 It might happen once or twice if I can think of a way to justify it (Like ridiculing an Epic he hates) but generally speaking I'm gonna go with no. Participants could always request it of course but I don't see it being the usual.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 damnation you reasonability! Why must you be right!
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 He could incept people into Funtimes' dreams I guess? Is Funtimes a brony? I feel like she should be.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 He could incept people into Funtimes' dreams I guess? Is Funtimes a brony? I feel like she should be. Somehow I now require a scene where Soulcaster astralnaps one of our Epics, turns them into a pony and that Epic is the revealed to be a brony. The Metal "I want a more flowing mane and if my cutie mark isn't the head of Armagoden I'll floor your entire city once I get out of here!" 1

The Metal "I want a more flowing mane and if my cutie mark isn't the head of Armagoden I'll floor your entire city once I get out of here!" This definitely needs to happen sometime. I kind of made Soulcaster to be the antithesis of the Metal. The Metal can crush anyone within 1km of him so long as they don't have a PI and he could take out an entire army simultaneously. Soulcaster can take on even High Epics with impunity but he has trouble against enough numbers.

(And a lot of my Epics in any given location also tend to make good antitesis to each other, as well.) Now the ultimate question is, would invincibility like Steelheart's trump mental manipulation like this?
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 For no reason other than that Steelheart is expressly one of the most feared Epics ever I'm going to say that he could just power his way out of the mental manipulation but as a rule invincibility isn't a defense against it. The Metal could probably do the same as Steelheart but I don't think there's anyone else in the RP who could, it'd only be the absolute top tier Epics who could escape it.

Now the ultimate question is, would invincibility like Steelheart's trump mental manipulation like this? yeah, I think he simply has too strong a will, as well as his incredible power (he can't even be drowned or suffocated, after all) to be astralnapped. I like the idea that Steelheart is so strong that he is invincible against things that he technically shouldn't be if his skin or body were simply invulnerable. Edited May 26, 2015 by Blackhoof

I also like to imagine that if Steelheart and the Metal ever fought, Steelheart could keep moving (albeit slowly) no matter how much pressure the Metal applied to him Cuz thats how he do. 1
Blackhoof Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I like how the list of Epics in the MEE Wiki page is filled with dead people XD 1
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Yeah they've not been too fortunate thus far But I've got plenty more ready for their appearance when necessary.
Blaze1616 he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Comatose and Silver: Comatose, I'm not sure what types of restraints you had in mind, so I intentionally kept it vague for you or Silver to describe in one of your posts. Silver, I didn't have them actively restrain Converter so you have a chance to respond in some manner, should you choose to not have them restrain her immediately.
Blackhoof Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Also, if you appreciate the amusement value enough how about Broadcast gets killed by Iconoclast (or a Ghoul), right on the street? 1
Blackhoof Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hahaha we can arrange this for the next game day mwa ha ha what does Broadcast do, power-wise?
Blaze1616 he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) I just updated my post for Epic Profiles with some of the minor Epics I'm using in Corvallis. Broadcast Primary Power: He is capable of contacting anyone via mobile, so long as he knows their name (Epic name is sufficient). Secondary Power: He can broadcast mobile feeds to anyone he wants, no matter the distance. Weakness: Being kissed IcyHot Primary Power: Can control heat and heat transfer. Weakness: Lakes Resistor Primary Power: Can apply and manipulate resistances to electrical currents. Weakness: Moon Bounces Edited May 26, 2015 by Blaze1616 1
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 So Kobold... what are the odds that Arsenal would be able to travel to Salem in the near future so that he could fight Amputee, I have a feeling that throwing dead copies of himself in tutus and frocks is exactly the kind of strategy he needs to defeat Arsenal.

He'd summon enormous flamethrowers to cremate the bodies as quickly as he could produce them... if he could get over his initial bout of screaming and stomping his foot in rage. 2
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 And if certain members of the Dalles city guard bribed Soulcaster to turn Arsenal into something from Deathwish's dream? 1
Kobold King he/him Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 And if certain members of the Dalles city guard bribed Soulcaster to turn Arsenal into something from Deathwish's dream? If he ever woke from that dream, there would not be a force in Oregon that could save Soulcaster from being tied to a nuke, launched into space, and having his face printed onto a thousand "Public Enemy Number One--Terminated" sheets. 1
Voidus Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 So Edge, completely unrelated note, how long would it take Shinysparkle to teleport someone to Salem and what would she need in recompense? 1
