So I asked a while ago but just to double check, does anyone have anything to do in Portland before I timeskip to the MoNA attack? It'll probably be the last thing before we jump to morning.

I have to finish Timeport/Sidestep, which will take just one more post I think.

Really? I was under the impression that it only mattered if you had to mentally direct it, but things like the guns and gravitonics didn't matter as far as being an Epic. Either way, they have advanced enough tech to hide his face. And I understand Jumpdrive isn't going to hide for very long - just long enough to get some crucial intel.

Edit : what exactly are the Metal's powers? The pressure he applies should just convert to binary once it would cause injury or death, but I don't remember how he does everything else exactly.

We don't really know if anything except the Spyril and the Obliterbomb had a motivator. Anyway, I suppose it depends on what you consider crucial intel on whether or not he could get it.

Edit:

Not really, he applies the pressure directly on the object, so to stop it he would have to turn his own body into binary, which doesn't sound healty.

Alright... Finished another O-Crush RP that I really like, but I'm afraid to double-post (don't worry, it doesn't involve anyone else's characters... yet.)

Well, I more or less have a RP post ready but am waiting for someone's okay on it, so if you don't want to double post it'll porbably come up tomorrow at the latest. Your choice, really.

I think I talked to Edge about this a while ago but it seems like there are two types of Epic tech, those with motivators like the Spyrill and Oblitibomb and another type that's just been enhanced somehow by studying how Epic powers work, like Gravitonics and the mobiles that work through solid steel. Since I doubt an Epic with radio capabilities was chopped up into seven million pieces to make phones for everyone in Newcago.

And all of a sudden, no one in Newcago wanted a mobile anymore.

Would it make them feel better if he had a stupid name?

Like Captain phone-face?

No, not really, no.

Even making him a war criminal wouldn't help much.

What about a politician? Or a lawyer? A politicians lawyer? And he kicked a cat that was cuddling a pug.

For a man like that, I think a more fitting ending would be to have his ashes scattered to the four winds and all records of his existence erased from history.

A random question for Comatose: If/when Frostfire and Taylor meet, how ticked would she be if Ethan tells her he liked her better when she did country music? :P

I'd have to think about that.  She probably wouldn't be too offended, since she obviously would still think her country music was great.  It would depend how he phrased I guess.  If he was merely saying her country music was amazing, then that would be okay.  If he was implying her pop music was terrible, then she might get angry.

As for Monopoly, I hadn't thought of the whole her not breathing thing would be a simple and effective way of stopping her from just stealing all the oxygen, so if no one thinks she is too over-powered, then I might leave her as is.  Still debating the PI thing.

Any suggestions for which plot she would fit into the best?  Everywhere seems to be pretty busy at the moment.  My instinct is Astoria, but I know a huge battle just happened there.

One simple question first. Do you have any idea what her personality would be like and of which characters she could play off well?

I think she's someone who earlier in life was quite oppressed, and now she has become quite uncompromising in getting what she wants.  She isn't super interested in building up power structures, and prefers to tear existing ones down.  I think many of her actions are motivated by selfishness, so she wouldn't be above sacrificing a particular goal or ambition in favour of personal gain.  She cares little for others (she's an epic using her powers so that's obvious), but she dislikes watching others abuse their power, and likes opportunities to take people down a peg.  I think originally she was actually quite a compassionate and principled person, and this urge to 'teach epics a lesson' is kind of the last vestige of that, the main difference being now she doesn't care about the people who are suffering the effects of the abuse of power, or about the effects her challenging existing power structures have.  Like all epics, she is motivated by fear at her core, but I think that she's distanced herself from her fear so much that she seems quite fearless.

I'm also thinking of adding a bit to her power, just to give her some more leverage.  I'm thinking that if she chooses, and if she returns to the spot she absorbed things from, she can return them to their original  position, but her default would still be just to spill it all out in her immediate vicinity.  This means that while she can be quite destructive to property, she doesn't have to be, so some might bargain with her at for the convenience of not having piles and piles of resources gathered around uselessly.    I kind of like the idea that despite the fact that her power is incredibly destructive, she does not actually have much offensive power for fighting other epics, or the ability to defend herself, except by actively stealing people's weapons or equipment.  I'm sure she can find ways to use her power offensively by preventing others from getting close, or stealing things like helicopters while people are flying in them, but there's not much she can do to combat many offensive or defensive epic capabilities.

Well yes and no, she's got some pretty good potential for destruction, especially if when she spills things out they have much force, having a helicopter or tank thrown at you is pretty damaging after all.

But even if not she could flood an entire street without much difficulty, which while not necessarily damaging is certainly going to make fighting her difficult. Especially since she could then reabsorb that water and then spit it out again to make recurring waves crashing around her.

Well, gathering a town worth of houses and then dropping them on someone sounds like quíte the offense to me in all honesty. :P

It also sounds like something Silver Age Lex Luthor would've done. :P "And now, Superman, with my patented House Lifter Ray, I shall lift every house in the suburbs and drop them on the unsuspecting downtown area! Try to stop me now!"

Fair enough, haha.  I was more picturing the stuff (including houses) spilling out.  There's enough momentum to stop them from falling back on her, but not enough to "shoot them".  I will acknowledge however that the house thing or water thing could be quite destructive regardless.

In other news, I want to recreate the first minute of this video (or perhaps the whole video really) in the Dalles.  Because why not, haha.

I have no idea what I just saw, but I think you're right? Who should be the one who kicks Taylor out a window?

Did we already stumble across his weakness?

Also you have the Sightline dialouge double in your post.
