Actually, upon further reflection, Edgerunner seems the more likely one to request two hours of Tuvan throat singing….so she can "borrow" Autumn's iPod and blare that playlist wherever Arsenal is likely to be.

It's always the innocent ones.

You guys probably have no clue who I'm talking about but who here ships Para-Medic and Naked Snake?

A quick Google search tells me they're from Metal Gear Solid, which I'm not familiar with at all.

MGS3 Snake Eater to be specific, a prequel that explains how Naked Snake became the Big Boss. Para-Medic being part of the support staff that helps him over radio and their interactions are just awesome. (Those are code names by the way. )

I figured. Although some parents do like to get creative with their kids' names, I doubt two sets of parents would be lucky enough to have the surnames Medic and Eater; and even then, I don't know if they'd both be Kreaytiff enough to name them Para and Snake. :P

Person of Interest used to be the show for my big ship….until the writers killed off a major character and the ship died with it. :(

Harry Potter spoilers:

My OTP, regardless of what J. K. Rowling might say, is still Luna x Neville.

Yessss. It's incredibly adorable, and it makes perfect sense, what with Luna's quirky bent and Neville's love of Herbology. It's a shame they got so little screen time, so Rowling could claim they had terrible chemistry or something.

However, my OTP for that series is still Umbridge x Avada Kedavra.

Snake could as well be his familiy name, given that his clones (one of which he adopted) get codenames like Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. The names can get kind of confusing in series.

That does sound confusing. Oh well, no need to waste a good theme, I suppose.

Have we finally located Lord Snakehands' father? :o:P

To give you the full run down. (from memory)

First we have Jack, who also went by the code name John Doe, then when he went on the virtuous mission got the code name Naked Snake and keept that name for the operation Snake eater in which he had to deal with Cobra an organisation lead by his old mentor The Boss and for succesfully deafeating her he got the code name Big Boss. Somehwere down the line he also took on the names Venom Snake and Vic Boss. Then there was a cloning project of him, with three surviving clones Liquid Snake, Solid Snake, who is the one that got adopted by the Big Boss and got the name David, later when undercover he also calls himself Iroquois Pliskin and later gets called Old Snake after his clone genetics cause a sudden aging burst and Solidus Snake, who the Patriots made President of the USA under the name George Sears and for a short while pretends to be Solid Snake to get his recognition as the inheritor of the Big Boss. Then there's also the adopted son/child soldier of Solidus Snake (Solidus killed his parents to make him available for adoption) who he also call Jack in memory of his father, his effectiveness as a child soldier also got him the name Jack the Ripper. After he got rescued by a humantarion organisation the Patriots took him as a test subject for the S3 plan and also gave him the nick name Snake, which they later changed to Raiden for some kind of symbolism. That should be all the major one, I think. :P

Edge? You know the show; how would Snake Eater react to Lord Snakehands calling him "Dad"? :P

NS: "How do they taste?"

SH: "What?"

NS: "Your hands, how do they taste?"

SH: "My hands?"

NS: "Yes, your hands. Do they taste good?"

It really is and I haven't even gone into all the villains or the Patriots conspiracy. Which by the way is where the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo comes from.

The whole "How does it taste" is a running gag in MGS3. Because he's on a sneaking mission Snake has to capture his own food in the wild, so when he catches an animal, often times snakes, Para-Medic will then give some exposition on the animal, when asked, which ends with a segment about how it tastes. At first Snake promting her on it and later she just goes along with it.

Sounds like the naming version of an Ocelot Tale:

"When I was a boy back in Gimmelshtump, none of the village children wanted to play with me because the smell of pork rinds emanating from me was so unbearable—well, the reason isn't important; that's part of another emotionally scarring backstory. Regardless, the smell of pork was so bad that no one would come near me, and one day the carnival came to town, and I needed money because of yet another backstory that—okay, basically: my parents disowned me, I was being raised by ocelots." :P

It's not much, but it does sound like a good ingredient for a cute ship.

There's actually a major villain called Revolver Ocelot.

It's one of the small things. There's more though and they just generally play well off each other. Granted, knowing the series and given that I haven't finished the game yet I'm fully prepared for a twist that ruins the ship but until then I fully support it. ;)

Of course there is. Don't tell Voidus what a fantastic Epic name that would make.:P

In my opinion, the best ships are made of little things more than big "My darling, my darling, my life and my bride" moments beneath the pale moonlight. Ships that are more little things feel more real.

Alright, I won't let's hope he isn't reading these spoilers.

To illustrate, until now they only interacted over radio and yet I still ship it.

I opened that spoiler tag, saw only the word "Discord," remembered I haven't seen the next episode, and managed to both avert my entire head and close the tab and the same time.

It was quite the exhilarating experience, let me tell you. :P

I'd say I wish I could've seen that, but as it also sounds like something that could give you whiplash, I'll just take your word for it. :P

I'd say I upvoted this comment, but I've run into our old foe whose name begins with "Q" again. <_<

Don't worry. I know a guy.

Your guy has good methods.

Though I have to wonder. What would happen if Discord did his patented "Discording" on Quota? Would he turn grey(er) and suddenly start comforting anyone he suspects is having a bad day?

Doesn't he, though?

No, since evil!Discord's "Discording" not only turns people into their own antithesis, but their worst possible antithesis, I think Quota would have his favorite weapon—depression—turned on him. He'd sink into a deep, dark, fear-filled depression from which he thought there was no escape. If Discord was feeling especially vindictive, he might lock Discorded!Quota in a padded room with smily faces on the walls to make it extra torturous. Or, in the interest of spreading chaos and hatred, he'd allow some of Quota's victims to see him in that state and, with said victims having been similarly Discorded, they would not feel sorry for him. Not one whit.

….and I'm finding it hard to feel sorry for him, too.

Actually, I always assumed we saw evil Discorded ponies because we only saw Discord affecting inherently good ponies. At his worst he had no agenda or moral compass--he was simply chaotic, enjoying turning the natural order of things upside down. Looking at it that way, it makes more sense that he'd turn an inherently bad pony to good, or rather, an overly saccharine parody of good, than it would be to turn him into a boring depressing wreck.

But that's just my headcanon. Your idea works perfectly too.
