OK, something I just realized: Impact's false alarm about Deathwish's betrayal will have Vondra immediately organizing a neutralization team to assess the situation at the armory. This could interrupt his and Autumn's briefing time. Twi, any thoughts on how to orchestrate this?

Have her brief him on the way? Delegate the organization of the neutralization team to someone else? Some combination of the two?

Hmm... he'd want to lead the team himself, but if someone reasonable that he trusted--for instance, Autumn--convinced him that it would be better for the city if he delegated it, he'd listen to her. After that the Autumn/Vondra conversation can progress without interruption.

Convinced him….by telling him that there's unrest in the city already and they need their leader at the helm in case of any other random acts of Epics, perhaps?

That'd be helpful, yes. It wouldn't hurt to point out that if Deathwish went rogue, the first thing he'd do is kill Vondra, so the safest place for him to be is in the command center.

Vondra has a rather gung-ho method of governing, so he needs a voice of reason to keep him from personally donning a jetpack and attacking Deathwish in the air or something. :P

Man, it's a good thing Funtimes isn't in The Dalles right now. "Delancey! I need a jetpack with mounted machine guns and fourteen mechanical ostriches equipped with lasers and set to kill!" :P

Did you want to post for Vondra readying an attack, or should I go?

Feel free to go. Upon hearing the radio alert Vondra will get angry fast, but I can see Autumn quickly defusing his temper and suggesting a reasonable course of action. If you want to share snippets of your post before publishing, I can supply a couple lines of dialogue to move the story along.

I get the impression that having a teleporter around that can immediately bring his to the scene of an attack will only lead Vondra to become even more risk taking in the future. Even if they aren't exactly going to be friends.

Nice Financier post Twi. ;) Given that Voidus is bussy with the fight and Winter with her SE game should I go next?

Works for me. I'll try and get something up in between twin posts.

Probably. I hadn't even thought of that.

Thanks. ^_^ Sorry it was so long in coming. Like I said, I got a bit distracted when my prof used the online grade book to call me a clod. <_<

Sounds good to me.

I edited the last Dalles post so that Impact didn't catch the grenade that was thrown to her, just so everyone's aware. Apparently Voidus "Doesn't want to liquefy her just yet," so I've gotta avoid being too rough. :P

Deathwish would totally have just won this battle though. Just for the record. :P

I'm loving the contrast between Impact using her powers and MV not using hers.  It really shows how differently they are developing.

Also, the fight scene is, of course, wicked awesome.

Kobold, can I expect a Glamour post any time soon?  I'm really excited to get going with T-Swift.  Let me know if you want to plot something.

Also, the poor Financier!  So glad Brightdeath managed to cheer him up.

Yes, yes you can. I haven't written as many Glamour posts yet so it takes longer for me to get his voice down, and I've been trying to keep the momentum going in the twin scenes. (See what I did there? :P)

In any event, I'll try to get Glamour's reaction posted along with the next Backtrack/Deathwish post. :)

Guess the fight's over, then. It was fun. :D

I can have Deathwish arrested now, by the way, so it won't be a big deal to have him brought to the command center to await Vondra's interrogation.

The worst part about that last post (apart from thee fight ending :P ) is that there really isn't a reason for Impact not to kill everyone that just helped her after they are done giving her medical attention.

Badchull as Impact is becoming I don't think she could manage to keep fighting with lungs full of burning air, burst eardrums, shredded internal ear and a massive sword wound in her stomach. :P

There's some backstory to get into first but yes, unfortunately everyone in that house and at the clinic are dead, she planned to do so even before she got injured.

So... does that mean Deathwish won by technicality? 'Cuz that's what he'll tell everybody. :P

His opponent fleed, so yes this would count as his win. By the way, how much will the fact that he left the other Epics alone to fight under each other be accounted for in Vondra's logic?

Well he was just accused of murder and there's now no other Epics at the scene, I think he's going to need to tell people a lot of things. :P

Would telling people he flew around her just to see under her skirt, look bad for him on basis of being a Slontze or good, because acting in character like that makes it more belivable? :P

Hard to say. Technically he was following orders by engaging one of the invaders, but he caused heavy infrastructure damage and led an Epic straight into the armory, indirectly causing the deaths of two soldiers. So Vondra will be furious with him for letting his fighting frenzy get the better of him, but he won't face any long-term consequences since nobody really expects Deathwish to comply with them. It's part of the sad state of The Dalles right now that even with Vondra in charge, Epics can still do enormous damage without the accountability for their actions vanillas face.

Both. Very definitely both. :P

Oh I see it.  Take your time, I'm busy with work anyways.  Just thought I'd check in.

Depending on how Taylor and Glamour hit it off, how would we feel about them attempting to stage a coup or something in The Dalles?  I think Taylor's getting tired of living life on the road, and between her and Glamour's powers, they could come up with some pretty neat deceptions I'd think.  It also might be fun to see her begin to bring out Glamour's darker side.

Not sure what you intended for the character though, these are just ideas I'm running with off the top of my head.  I would like her to abandon Brandon though, because that's too much fun to pass up.

Aaahhhhhhh! According to an answer in another Reddit thread, Sanderson says that the ending of Calamity "will leave the characters and setting fundamentally changed."

I NEED TO READ IT NOW

Maybe "changed" in the way that they kill/uncorrupt Calamity or something like that and not in the "retcon our characters into oblivion" way.

But yes, we all need to read it.
