thedayea
I know that a lot of the character's names come from Old/Middle English literature, so I was wondering if Moiraine's alias for herself - Alys - comes from the Wife of Bath in the Canterbury Tales? In her prologue, the Wife of Bath calls herself Alyson and Alys, and I guess in terms of being an independent woman, the two are similar. Anyways, can anyone shed some light on the origin of her name?
