I own 150 boardgames but the one that I always want to play is Ticket to Ride. My favorite map is probably Europe because it's so laidback thanks to stations, and Nordic Countries when I play twoplayer with my wife.

I recommend Youtube show "Tabletop", if you want to know more about boardgames. It's made by Wil Wheaton and there are cool guests like Patrick Rothfuss who come to play modern boardgames.

I love Space Alert! It's a timed co-op game that stresses you out with hilarious consequences!

My brother and I have recently been trying Mage Knight... good times, but other people that would play with us do not wish to participate in such complicated foolishness... *sob*

My family is pretty big on board games. We've got all those classic ones like Monopoly, and Clue, and Life. We've got several different stylistic Monopoly games and iterations of Scrabble. Risk, of course. Our common favorite seems to be trivia games (those are my personal favorite since I absorb a significant amount of entertainment and scholastic knowledge (basically, I know all kinds of weird crap.)) And I plan to be heavily involved in all forms of entertainment someday, so it's good to stumble across question s i don't know the answer to, then I got learn about the topic of the question. For example, I have not watched Mash, and we have a television & movie trivia game, so obviously there was going to be a Mash question or two.

But anyway, we've always been big on board games, trivia being the family favorite.

I want to play Settlers of Cataan, Bang, and Small World. Dixit looks awesome too, but that one's a card game.

I'm not so into Monopoly, Scrabble, etc... I like Caverna, Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders, Small World, etc...

You have to try Memoir 44. I put off buying it for a long time, because well... you're basically playing army men. I finally gave it a chance and it is way more fun than I could have imagined. I play it with my son all the time.
