Given that death is a slap on the wrists for her, i don't see how that is much of a restriction.

on reflection, I agree. She could just commit suicide to explode.

Maybe make her limited with how much energy she can hold at one time? I mean, energy conversion is an incredibly useful and versatile ability. Already, any impacts from any source are absorbed, any fire/lightning/energy blasts/lasers flung at her are absorbed, any acid or water thrown at her can be robbed of friction, making them slide off completely. and then she can take all this energy and project it as ny form she likes. She can be punched, and then electrocute you, she can be shot with a laser and then throw something at you super hard, charged with kinetic energy.

Its not a problem to have an op Epic, of course, in fact there are tonnes of them haha.

I just recommend a limitation or two that makes her less powerful than an Epic that we already know is considered one of the most powerful. Perhaps she has to get rid of stored energy very quickly? so, she can only hold it for a few minutes? That means that during a fight, she is fine, doing all this crazy awesome stuff, and if attacked, even by surprise, she can absorb the energy of any attack and fight back. But she couldn't just sit in the sun all day absorbing it. She could drain a reactor dry (although there aren't many left, I'd think), but have to expend it pretty quickly soon afterwards.

Just a suggestion, I'm new here too haha :)

Time for a training montage. B)

I'm really digging my mental montage of MV tossing pandas, Reader getting pantsed, Deathwish getting slapped, and Backtrack trying to find a place to hide all to "Eye of the Tiger" blaring from Glamour's headphones. :P:lol:

The best part is that all of this is actually plausible. B)

Would this be a good time to mention my surveillance Epic?
He's an invisibility Epic who goes around taping the Dalles and has popcorn and movie nights with Glamour every Thursday.

I got a very weird image in my head of Shiny Sparkle teaching her in the arts of sunglasses, while trying to explode her for practice purposes. :P

In a sporking of the Divergent series, the sporker makes a joke about a sixth faction, "Meh, the People We Found Sitting Around Outside." Now I'm imagining a Divergent fanfic where Mister Meh (somehow?) rallies the factionless to create the faction Meh.

That's a good idea. What she couldn't hold the energy well, so it escapes from her body relatively fast. Let's say that it escapes newscast if she is in a fight, corresponds with her heart rate. She would also have an upper limit.

Some one please update blackhoof for this post. I was trying to quote it, but I hit the down vote button. It deserves posts of up votes.

Meh, making a faction like that seems like more work than it's worth. -_-

Or maybe that's the brilliance of it. Making a faction out of people who don't care if they're in a faction, so it won't be any huge loss if the faction is annihilated, because they won't care one way or the other. No matter how you try to destroy their core values, you can't, because their core value is not caring whether or not their core value is destroyed.

The Faction of Meh is eternal.

The Faction Meh thinks you have put way to much thought into this, but none of them cared enough to tell you.

Also, link to the sporking please.

I can't link on my phone (and the Faction of Meh doesn't care to try and see if I can and there's actually a trick to it) but it's the Allegiant sporking on badbooksgoodtimes.com.

Good times, huh? I always wondered what would happen in that personality test in Divergent, if someone took both the knive and the cheese and started to slice the cheese up for easier consumption.

That's what I'd do. And then when I saw the dog, I'd cut off a hunk of cheese and offer it in an attempt to befriend it. Come to think of it, I'd probably do the same thing to the guy on the train.

Is there a Cheese Faction somewhere in Chicago? Because I'd totally join that.

Not having read Divergent, this post is utterly nonsensical to nigh-humorous levels for me.  :P:lol:

Basically, it's a forced hallucination where you're supposed to choose a knife or a hunk of cheese, and then your choice determines the rest of the test. The results are supposed to tell you which of five factions you belong in--Erudite, Candor, Dauntless, Abnegation, or Amity--each of which value one trait above all others (intelligence, honesty, bravery, selflessness, or kindness). But it turns out the results don't really matter, because you can choose your faction anyway. But the results actually do matter, because Erudite looks at your test results and tries to kill you if you showed traits of more than two factions.

The whole "Superman is given powers by an evil star and turns Chicago into a brutal dictatorship where even his calculator (Fortuity) is a serial killer" is a lot more straightforward. <_<

Huh. Sounds vaguely interesting, but not interesting enough for me to want to read the book. :P

Maybe it's just me, but I think settings work best when either the rules they operate by are simple to understand, or when they're introduced slowly and delicately, preferably with the viewpoint characters being just as mystified by the system as the readers are.

All the pages of posts to read. It took me an hour to catch up on the twenty pages I hadn't read over the weekend...

Anyways, Corvalis. I think I'll jump into the OEU there. I really like the idea of the Power Puff Girls being epics. If you don't mind, Comatose, I'd like them? I saw that Voidus took the duplicator/plant grower, so I'll have to come up with something for Buttercup and Blossom. I'd also therefore be taking over the forcefield Epic, now to be officially known as Bubbles (so long as I get her).

The PowerPunch Girls are a go!

Assuming your consent, Comatose.

Lots of wasted potential and house of card logic in this setting. Bother with better books my friend and only approach this in sporkings.

Also, what happened to your face? You're beatiful. :P

Wasn't the pancake plantage Epic Blossom? But I guess that's something for you and Voidus to agree on.

There are too many books in the world to read in one lifetime, so there's no sense in wasting time with the mediocre.

Uh, wait, this isn't what it looks like... oh drat. It's exactly what it looks like. I fell in love with Luna as the captain of a starship, so I thought I'd try the profile picture on when I thought no one was looking. :P

I'm still trying to find the perfect profile picture for myself. The one that I'll someday switch to and never change again. I have some ideas...
