And the Cybermen were created to keep humanity from turning into Epics, making it impossible for Nighthound to exsist.

Every alien invasion the Doctor thwarted in the past was dedicated to preventing the existence of Nighthound by changing the history.

The Carrionites, the Rutans, the Pyroviles, the lupine wavelength haemovarioform... they weren't evil. They were just dedicated to decency.

They had to sacrefice something and they decided that something was Nighthound's life.

The only villain the Doctor has faced who actually had nefarious intent was the Master….who may or may not be a future regeneration of Nighthound.

How does the reincarnation spanning romance of Möbius and Koschei play into this?

But the Master's real name is Koschei... hmm. This confirms that the Master, Koschei the Deathless, and Nighthound are the same person at different points in the timeline.

No—wait, I got it wrong. The Master and Koschei the Deathless are the same person. Nighthound is another Time Lord ally of the Master's, whose current regeneration has made him the Nighthound we know and hate. Therefore, the Master is attempting to find his ally, the Nighthound, and fix the Oregon timeline where he (the Master) is stuck as a cat and Mobius is a doctor. But since he can't cross his own timeline, he's going to use Nighthound to do it!

It makes so much sense now.

Say Kobold, with you talking about Lightwards returning to the museum soon, how are the chances of his next segment coming?

Funny you should ask, I was actually aiming to get it written before evening. It will be pretty short, but I still intend to give you the opportunity to treat Lightwards like a bug for a post or two. ;)

I'm not going to complain then. Lucentia might.

What doesn't she complain about? <_<:P

Help me refresh my memory. Does Lightwards know that Lucentia is Nighthound's sister yet? I'm pretty sure he does, but I can't remember for sure.

EDIT: At least one other time I had Lightwards refer to their relationship, so if I keep that up, at least I'll be consistent with what he knows supernaturally. :P

EDIT THE SECOND: Do I have any other Portland characters that need an update?

He did actually not find them by sound. The pressure power he used to knock himself around and push Brightdeath to the ground can also be used to give him something akin to a sixth sense, that allows for effectively perfect spacial awareness in his range, by slightly pushing down on everything. So he recognized them by their shape and the fact that they were holding their rifles.

Wow. Maybe we should set up an Alan. It seems that this could turn pretty bad if he is that strong, compared to Lockvault, who doesn't even have a Prime Invincibility.

Plot twist: extraterrestrials have been avoiding Earth for centuries because they predicted the eventual existence of Michael Jager.

Why do you think Calamity came? He was drawn to Earth by a terrifying entity. Whenever somebody uses their Epic powers, they get more and more evil. This is not because of Calamity, it is because of Nighthound's connection to him.

I know or a fact that on page 38 she refered to Nighthound as her brother, when talking to Lightwards, so yes he knows.

Let's see, Aldo and Cricket are both present, Numnums is dead and that's pretty much it, I think, so no.

I think that back when he was only backstroy his pitch pretty much started with "he's broken" Didn't we plan on setting up an Alan anyway?

Ever wondered how Steelheart reacted to the news that Obliteration destroyed the cities he did?

Unfortunately, I have the answer.

 Maybe it's the other way around and Obliteration destroyed Huston because of that taunt?

If that were the case, I think Obliteration would've just come to Newcago to settle things with Steelheart once and for all….wearing a fetching A-line dress and heels.

But wait, I thought Timeport was the Master....

Oh no.

Does that mean every single one of our major slontzes is just another reincarnation of the Master?!

More terrifying was Obliteration's response.

He certainly seems broken. I think that setting up an Alan would be good. I am pretty busy right now, so having that would be easier than running through the ten pages of this I miss between the times I can get on.

Never has a duel between gods and angels involved so much pink satin.

Also, I think we just discovered Nathan and Sam's Epic weaknesses.

Chicago Joe wasn't any happier about it than you are.

Sparks. When she smirked she looked just like her brother. Of all the Epics in the world to have a sibling, why Nighthound? At least Funtimes didn't have one.

And if she has her say, Lightwards will never, ever, ever learn the truth.

Yes. Pay all your attention to my foreshadowing. Pay no mind to the fact that I got stuck for the name of another Californian Epic so I shoehorned the Lord of the Silvefish into another character backstory. :P

I thought that was actually pretty clever. I mean, the mental image of Lightwards facing down another resurrection Epic whose body simply dissolves into millions of insects when he dies, rather than saddling him with yet more mental decay, fuming with jealous rage as the wood-paneled walls in the suburban home that hasn't been updated since the 1970s dissolve into silverfish…..

Foreshadowing shall pay off soon. And also, I think this might be one of the few instances of actual foreshadowing instead of the hindshadowing we usually use. :P

That was sort of my reasoning too. I can imagine Lightwards fervently stomping on the silverfish trying to scurry up his legs, futilely trying to resurrect the ones he's killed into his own Warriors even as the Lord converts another wall into a vast swarm of mindless minions...

Maybe I should hire myself out as a foreshadower-for-hire. Tell me your planned character arcs, and I'll include a sentence or two ominously foreshadowing things to come.:P

….and every vanilla in a ten-mile radius flees because, even though theirs may not be the most destructive Epic duel they've ever seen, it's definitely the most unsettling.

Of course, the foreshadowing will have little effect if the character arcs change as much as mine have. :P (But go ahead and foreshadow with Funtimes. Hers is sticking to my current plan. ^_^

The ironic thing is that even though our campaign goal is the total annihilation of Oregon, all my most destructive Epics are outside the state and will probably never be seen in the RP.:P

Plans were made to be broken. :P (It's an awesome plan. :))

(Though I keep getting mixed up--which city did Soulflicker and Amarok fight over? I'm pretty sure it was Seattle, but maybe I've gotten confused.)
