Yeah, I'm just saying. With a bit of practice (and proper motivation)...

I'll give you the motivation if you supply the practice.

And behold, a Taylor Swift pony!

I'm not entirely sure I'm happy with it, though. Here's her code, at any rate:

Somehow you even incorporated her trademarked shirt that shows her midriff but not belly button. Definitely going straight to the Pony Vault. :D

I'll keep that in mind.:P

To Mailliw, Voidus, and anyone else with female characters in The Dalles: be planning witty comebacks for Deathwish's unsubtle style of flirting. You'll probably need them.

Shall do, I suspect Scribbler will be referring to her copy of 'how to be snarky to Epics' by Sam and Revolution quite a bit :P

Fun fact: A group of pugs is called a grumble.

A group of cats is called a glaring, which makes sense if you've ever shined a flashlight over a field of cats staring back at you.

Glaring is probably what you would see quite a lot of, if you attempted to dress a glaring of cats in royal robes.

Oddly enough, doing the same to a grumble of pugs does not induce a lot of grumbling.

Interestingly another collective for a group of cats is a comfort of cats, which these cats most certainly are not.

Most of my cats would strip the flesh off of your arms if you tried to dress them. A lot of them were strays, and they've all got a slightly feral bend to their behavior.

And I love them for it.

Hold on a minute. Is Panacea a black woman? I've been imagining her with dark skin all this time, and I just realized I have no justification for my mental image at all.

Posted

I'd been picturing her that way, too.

Her bio in the Epics of Oregon thread mentions "honey-colored curls." Does she dye her hair?

Does it? I don't remember writing that....might be time for an edit.

Then again, my characters sometimes change appearances after I've written their profiles. I think I originally wrote Autumn as a brunette until she became a ginger later on.

Nathan was brunette too, if memory serves.

I just want to make sure we all have the same mental pictures. I read most of Warbreaker assuming the God King was a black man. To this day I'm unsure what part of the text could have possibly given me that impression.:P

Yep. Funtimes and Koschei didn't change appearances at all, though. They might be the only two. :P (Though it occurs to me that Quota didn't change appearance, either—but then again, I never really described his appearance in detail.)

I didn't have that picture in my head, but I like it. On that note, is Sazed black? I always picture him as black.

Quota I can picture only as a grey unicorn with a red arrow as his cutie mark. :P (Maybe if he had a real name I could visualize his face better... hint hint.)

Jo, Sazed's Vietnamese.

I... didn't really realize I'd been imagining the Terrismen as various Asian ethnicities until now.

I thought I decided on Britanic Jerald Jansink….until deciding the implication was too horrifying and immediately reversing my decision. :P (His real name is Roosevelt Barthes. Yeah….that's why he hid online most of the time.)

Really? I'd been picturing all Terrismen as dark-skinned.

Which….doesn't quite jibe with the Lord Ruler's appearance—wasn't he white?—but oh well.

Sorry I wasn't around much today! Loved the Swift pony :). I'll try to get a post up tomorrow. Gooood night!

Have you ever lived in Japan?

That would be swell, yes. And good night.  :)

Consider Kobold King on the case. (Still debating whether I'll use the English or Japanese lyrics--I'm more familiar with the English ones, but the Japanese ones seem to describe what we've seen of Calamity better.)

Not myself, no. I know someone that did though.

Consider it a WIP.

Sparkleglass has existed for less than an hour in-game and Shiny Sparkle is already openly announcing her intentions to "conquer Autumn's heart". And you thought Funtimes took things too fast. ;):P

Oh yes, Shiny Sparkle moves ridiculously fast and she's still holding back. :P

I'll keep that in mind.:P

Does slapping him in the face with explosives count as witty? :P

Surrender your souls mortals, gaze upon our might and despair.

Well I gave Baxter a darker skin tone, even if not outright black, so the idea isn't without predecent.

Wel... black is considered a color of power.

I've been imagining him as a mix of indian and african, plus the changes that come with being an eunuch.

I feel you, I originally pictured Szeth as black. He just looked cooler that way.

I too have weird pictures of characters, that I form with no backing whatsoever :P

IIRC the lord ruler was super white. And if no-one could guess he was a Terrisman, they mustn't be very visually distinct, minus the eunuch thing.

Also, everyone cool with me bringing Hellfire in soon? I was thinking he could pop in and join with the Destructors.

Hellfire? Drat now I have to rename one of my canon-fodder Epics :P

On TLR I think the final empire was so big that there'd be quite a few different complexions plus he changed the biology of pretty much everyone on the planet when he Ascended so it wouldn't be hard for him to change his appearance too.

Well, I was imagining Baxter as white, for one thing.

Let's see... I picture Voidgaze as white, obviously. Pure, pale white, from skin to her hair to her clothing. I picture Nighthound as tall, very tan, with a long black ponytail that goes down to his lower back, and a sharp pointed nose. Lucentia's similarly tan, with straight black hair and a stare that says "I don't know who you are, but I don't like you."

In The Dalles... I picture Baxter as white, slightly plump, with straight brown hair. Clearly I'm way off on that. Shiny Sparkle I picture as a very tall redhead of medium build. Basically that aunt that everyone has in their family--you know, the one who drops periodic references to all her previous husbands while hogging the casserole at get-togethers? Maybe it's just me. :P

My mother says she's never developed vivid mental pictures of characters as she read about them like I do. I'm still not sure if it's a blessing or a curse for me.:P

For some reason even though it's an illusion and it's supposed to be super good-looking I always picture Altermind as having a massive wart on his jaw. Good luck getting that image out of your mind.

...Does that mean TLR was so racist he race-lifted himself?

You got Portland right, although I'm not sure where Nighthound's pointed nose comes from.

Well, Baxter is Panacea's father, so having one as withe and the other as completely black is unlikely and your description of Shiny Sparkle confuses me. :P
