I am getting really excited for Astoria where we can all unleash our monsters of insta-death combat :D
But yeah, without a full PI Epics there would not survive long without being very very clever. Although in Sirens case it's kind of a possible mutual-death scenario, only resurrection Epics can be sure to survive unless we know specifically what the power does. Healing can be outmatched, force fields/intangibility/ impenetrable skin aren't any defense against that sort of attack unless they're at Steelheart levels, precogs would just know they were going to die slightly earlier since it's essentially an automatic checkmate.

It´s either going to be absolutely awesome or a horrible mess. I´m naturally voting for the awesome. :P

He would need to be close for the mutal-death scenario though, but yeah depending on who he´s facing he could take his opponent with him. (Which doesn´t make much sense on a meta level, given that all you would achive with that character is annoying another player.)

While on the matter, I know The Metal´s invulerability is on Steelheart´s level but what about Jaguar, Mailliw?

Problems with this plan.

With the time it would take to get to this point reinforcment could also arrive. Namely, Deadwish (one post by Kobold), Scribbler, Edgerunner (1/2 posts by Mailliw/Voidus) and Shiny Sparkle (one post by Twi and another from me). Now we would have a redlighted panda being wailed on by four Epics and whatever the soldiers bring with them.

Sorry but I don´t think we have enough plot armour/convenience to let the Panda win here.

Ozymandias could also come along and Decay off all his hair...

Which is exactly why he seems too OP. If he was dropped into a full hand-to-hand combat zone and nobody killed him within three seconds, everyone's dead. There seem to be no limitations for him. Is there anything he can't kill?

On the invulnerability subject my current classifications are:

Tier 1: Hardened skin, difficult but not impossible to pierce, high caliber ammunition or a shot to sensitive area can still penetrate, still vulnerable to large enough force of impact.

Tier 2: Impenetrable skin, cannot be penetrated by any kind of weaponry. Still vulnerable to large impact trauma, heat, radiation, etc.

Tier 3: Physical immunity, skin cannot be penetrated or crushed in any way. Completely immune to both piercing and blunt-force attacks.

Tier 4: Complete external immunity, cannot be burned, irradiated, killed with lasers or energy weapons.

Tier 5: Complete cellular immunity, cannot be poisoned, drowned, asphyxiated or killed through any means, body maintains a cellular stasis, preventing any alteration to bodily tissue whatsoever. (Steelheart)

If that helps people clarify. It was one of the PI's I thought had the most variability in terms of protection.

You'd make one Calamity of a good lorist.:D

Judging from this chart, I'd make the educated guess that CorpseMaer has Tier 3 or Tier 4 invulnerability, as his body can still be affected by caffeine in sufficiently high doses.

This shows nicely why calling Steelheart´s PI Impenetrable skin is somewhat of a misnomer. Although, cellular stasis might not be the best term either, given that he still ages.

(By the way, yes I intended Tier 5 here for the Metal.)

He would. I mean i´m good at picking out detail and the like for a case on case basis but he beats me at classifications like this, hands down.

Can´t be, he survived being stuck in a wall, which means no air.

You should see the other 500 pages of random stuff I have on Epic powers :P but Edge is better at spotting flaws in powers and such, I'm just insanely obsessive, he'd be a more useful lorist.

I'm not even completely sure Steelheart was at tier 5, I just assume so given that no one mentions trying to poison or drown him. I'd put CM at a tier 4 bordering tier 5.

EDIT: Aw, thanks guys. You sure know how to make an obsessed fan feel validated :P

Yeah the aging thing does throw my theory of how the immunity works off a bit, my theory was that the cell walls gain the immunity, so things happening inside the cell could still do damage.

How about this, should supers ever try to conquer the world or something like that we work together for the ideal lorist team? ;)

Done! Now if we could just find a Remington Springfield our Reckoner cell could be complete :P

I'll be the guy who dies first to show how dangerous the situation is. :P

I nominate my brother. Seriously, if the apocalypse hits, I call being on his team. He keeps a med kit and MREs in his trunk, for crying out loud--and we live in the suburbs.

No Kobold, don´t waste yourself on being the redshirt. We need you for our morals.

Alright, seems like we got out five-man band together. Does anyone want to be our sixth Ranger?

Do you still need a cook? I can cook.

You called being with your brother, so I already included you. Otherwise we wouldn´t have gotten five people. (I, Voidus, Kobold, you, your brother) But hey, you may have just turned yourself into the most important member of the party. :P

I´m sure she makes one hell of a pizza.

Pizza's the secret to keeping control of her organization. Anyone who goes against the Donna Oregona's wishes doesn't get a slice. :P

Unrelated, but I made a pony comic. Essentially a summary of the Prof-David relationship in Firefight, so there are a lot of spoilers. BIG spoilers.

Seriously, big spoilers for Firefight. I appreciate your devotion to pony comics, but you should really turn back now if you haven't read the novel.

Oh, I thought she meant Twilyght would taste good if she was a pizza.

Well, never mind then. I've never met glitter that I liked.

I haven't read enough of that thread to know. From the few posts I have read, she seems a bit OP...

But anyway, I hate glitter. It gets on everything and won't come off.

Oh. Like I said, I haven't read very many posts on that thread. Maybe the first 1.5 pages. It just takes so long to read 40+ pages that I haven't really even started...

I'm sure the Doctor would make an excellent soup though...
