As a kid I was fascinated by the voice procedure in two-way radio communications. I think my 10-year-old self would wholeheartedly agree with Dawnslight's decision.

Why in the world would a little kid rather have radios be able play all the time rather then t.vs or something like that

He's been in a coma for the majority of his life. Anything visual he experiences is internally imagined. All of his outside stimuli are audio, no visual, at least pre-calamity. So radio makes more sense, as it's geared for audio learning, not visual. I think that's why the grafitti glows as well. Grafitti is usually more abstract, and fits the more ethereal dream world Dawnslight is used to.

did it say how old he was? For some reason i pictured him as as someone born a LONG time ago...thus why his childhood dreams/powers are so innocent vs. now adays when a kid would dream up Pokemon and video games.

Maybe if he was old enough...a radio is all he knew...and his moments of happiness...listening to it with his family.

I believe Dawnslight is physically an adult at the moment. He's just been comatose for decades since he was a little kid.

How are people confused about that? It's pretty clear in the book.
