A few years back, I started reading a lot more fantasy. And then I started reading more high fantasy. And then I was severely disappointed with the female leads in the majority of said high fantasy. That, or there was a horrid romantic subplot.

(Keep in mind, this was in the midst of the Twilight hype, so Bella Swan clones were stamped everywhere in literature. *shivers*)

It was then that I embarked on my great journey to find a book with a female lead I did not want to punch in the face.

I searched everywhere. I traveled to the highest mountain tops, to the very depths of the ocean and I

Oh, okay. I Googled. Heroically.

And The Final Empire kept popping up in my searches. And then I read it. And loved it. And I went back to my library and checked out five more Brandon Sanderson books.

And then I had a new favorite author.

Oh, and then I read the Rithmatist. I was really irritated because I had no one to talk to about it, so I lurked on here for a week or two without ever making an account. And here we are, one year later. Ta-da!

Welcome! Don't take cookies from anyone. They are not good in every way you can imagine.

Anyway, what's your favourite Sanderson book so far? :)

Also, take an up vote.

QueenOfRandomness I think I'm in love. Will you marry me? Also, do you want a bamboo cookie. They are good for your teeth.

Thanks  :D

Mmm...that's a tough one. It depends on what mood I'm in, but right now I'd say it's a tie between Warbreaker and The Rithmatist.

No, to both. I'm partially carnivorous, it would never last.

But thanks for the upvote :)

Welcome to 17th Shard! :) Which is your favourite Sanderson book?

Seriously, you have a problem. I have already asked that. Moreover, she has answered already! ;)

Lol, thank you! Just read what comes before :)

Thanks for being a good sport. Have an up vote. Also, an up vote as an apology for jacking the thread.

Thank you for an upvote. :) Have one too :)

It's not the end of the world, Panda. It's going to be all right. Though, the 17th Shard isn't a dating sight, so maybe you should rethink your life. ;)

Warbreaker? Another member who shares my opinion that that is the best cosmere book? Queen, will you marry m-

No, to both. I'm partially carnivorous, it would never last.

...You know what? I think we need some time apart, to re-think our relationship.

Bantering aside, welcome! Brandon's books do have a lot of awesome female characters. I'm guessing you've read it, but if you haven't, I recommend Way of Kings; it's not his strongest book, but it does have some awesome female characters in it (such as Jasnah), so... yeah.

Welcome again!

I agree...just don't look at any threads if you haven't read WoK yet. There will be MAJOR spoilers.
