RawToast225 he/him Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Okay, how does Role Playing like this work? I have never done it before in the slightest. Not even a dungeons and dragons game, really. What do do? How do you do it? 1
Voidus Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 All Roleplays are different, it depends on the GM (Game Master) For instance the Oregon RPs are all pretty freeform, they can be found in the 'Reckoners RPG' subforum if you're interested. Some of the stricter RPs will use die rolls to determine the outcome of events but for the most part you just make a character and explain what they see and do. 1
RawToast225 he/him Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Isn't that super impossible to do online?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 What—dice rolls or free-form?
Moogle Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 It's basically just collaborative writing, and you typically have a leader in charge of directing the big things, so it isn't really that bad. I'd say doing RP online is easier than in real life - improvisational acting is hard to do on the fly, at least in my experience. You can spend time thinking and writing when you're doing it online. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 For a good explanation of free-form role-playing, you should check out the description threads for the forum's Reckonersverse RPG: What is Free-Form Role-Playing Rules and Etiquette
Gamma Fiend he/him Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 There is also the sub-forum that runs Sanderson Elimination, which has RP for the players in the games, but also run them in the style of Mafia or Werewolves (if you're familiar). And the Role-playing in these games just usually take place in whatever world the game is running in.
