Fickle was staring out at the sea, watching the waves crash against the harbor. He’d tried swimming earlier and it was nothing like the Reshi isles. Cold enough that he’d been scrambling out of there as soon as he touched it.

It surprised him, Fickle wouldn’t have thought he could still feel cold. But he also seemed to breathe, so maybe it wasn’t so odd.

Someone familiar flickered at the edge of his vision, and Fickle turned and opened his mouth to greet Jet before snapping it closed.

It wasn’t Jet.

1 held up his hands. "Relax." Then he studied the misty figure more. "Wait. I recognize you! You were there last time there was a large conflict that I was forced into!" He paused, happy to see a familiar face. Then he paused again. "You...you tried to frame me. Discredit me. Why?"

Fickle held out a hand for him to shake, “yeah… sorry about that, there wasn’t much entertainment where we were in Shadesmar”

Fickle pointed to his cloak—the symbol of his council appointment—before continuing, “But don’t worry, I’m better now. It won’t happen again”

1 examined the smoky figure for a few more seconds, then shook his hand. "I understand. I've been there more times than I can count. You're lucky. You get to stay."

He turned and walked toward the city hall. "I've seen this a hundred times. If we don't get to the meeting in time, we'll be forced there. It's best to get it over with and try not to get killed in the process. Of course, you won't have that problem unless they have anti-I, and if they do, we have bigger issues."
