Lesser spren Posted Wednesday at 07:38 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:38 PM The page for sunhearts states the following: Quote If not depleted, sunhearts can be given a small amount of Investiture, but this normally doesn't give it a substantial amount of Investiture.[5][8] If a depleted sunheart is left back into the sun of Canticle, it will not recharge as the Investiture just passes through the sunheart, instead of being captured by it.[18][7] If there is still Investiture in them, sunhearts can be recharged in the sun, since the soul is resisting the Investiture, causing it to flare and be captured in the sunheart.[7][17] This passage seems to imply any undepleted sunheart will be recharged. This is a false assumption. Chapter 45 of The Sunlit Man states a nondepleted sunheart must be primed with investiture from another source, (either a living canticlite donor or something else) in order to be recharged.
Cephandrious Maxtori Fae/Faer Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Wasn't the statement just that the sunheart needs any investiture present? Quote Anything trapped between the sun and the core is like…like interference between two opposite electric poles My reading was that any investiture in the Heart creates resistance, charging the heart

That's why nothing happens if you use a used one buried. But when they are formed in the first place, its because a soul is resisting causing the investiture to flare. Like the light of a light bub. that's what capture all that power and leave behind a sunheart," ... "How do you do it? How do you recharge them? Wait, you put something else into them. Something to be burned away by the Sunlight. That temporarily blocks the circut or offers resistance to it" "some heat from a local works," She said studing him "we have a few captives. they prime the sunhearts with a little of their heat, then we leave the sunhearts out, it works. you use some special investiture instead then you get a corrupted cinderheart" Freshly made sunhearts are already filled with investiture, that's why they glow. If a Sunheart with any investiture would work then you could refill a Sunheart that was only partially depleted but not outright drained without needing to prime it.
