I wasn’t aware of that.” Ryn looked up at Aerith and shook his head again. "If my hypothesis is correct, and the rumours are true, then we're in incredible danger. I'd sooner sell this ship than be captured by that IG droid. I know someone on Thyferra who'd be willing to buy her. I'll get in touch with them. And are we in hyperspace yet? We should be by now. I've got a call to make." He fastened the chronometer around his wrist, securing the clasp with practiced ease. A faint smile crossed his face as he turned away, pulling out his dataslate and tapping the screen. "If you need anything, let me know," he called over his shoulder. "I'll be packing my things."

Shatter He/Him Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Ryn had moved all his belongings into a small room to the right of the cockpit. It was a bit of a downgrade from his ship, but it was necessary. He sighed and walked into the cockpit. "I have a buyer set up for my ship. They'll take her for 55,000 credits. The buyer is Falyn Kri'ttar. She's a solid person. We'll land and unload the HWK-290, and she'll take the transponder key. How far out are we from Thyferra?"

After my Master selected me, he found the title in the archives and petitioned the Council to allow us to adopt it. We both had criticisms of the Council, which we kept quiet.” She chuckled, a pitiful attempt at creating levity. “As I’m sure you can probably guess, they didn’t want to allow it. I don’t know why they changed their minds for sure; my master didn’t let me sit in the hearings. All I know is they did attach one string - that we would obey military orders and help with the Clone Wars, which we understood and agreed to.” Her grip tightened. When we returned from our mission, I started working on a tapestry. I.. I felt unable to stop. I could feel how important it was. It was a warning.” A breath in. Her throat felt like the memories she had of experiencing earthquakes. “Master Kai and I were unable to shake all of our clones. Two of them came with us when we attempted to run. After a few days, they received a transmission shrouded in darkness. My master grabbed my hand and we ran to our ship while he deflected their blasts. She gripped her hand tighter still, the outer one now cringing in pain. “We were able to survive of a few smuggling runs for about a month. When we could, we purchased droids to help us on the ship. She didn’t have to remember the order of all these events now. The emptiness in her head led to stillness in her body. She needed to meditate after this. Through her fear, his voice echoed in her head. “The Council opposes Jedi being guided by their emotions. They have good reason to do so, as emotions can blind you to the truth and lead you into darkness. But that does not mean you can’t feel. Feel your emotions. You can let them motivate you without falling into the Dark Side. Seeing injustice and feeling anger can inspire us to help those who cannot help themselves. The weight of it hung there, not something to argue with, just something to sit beside. He stood up and rested his hand on her shoulder for a moment. A beat passed. Then he exhaled slowly and sat back down in his seat. “I should probably explain my side properly,” he said. His gaze drifted for a moment before settling back on her. “As I said, I wasn’t a frontline Jedi,” he said. “Not during the war. I flew courier runs. Intelligence transfers. Sometimes personnel, but mostly messages that couldn’t risk interception.” He gave a faint, humourless breath. “You don’t really think of yourself as part of the war like that. You just think you’re moving things between people who matter more than you do. In any case, I saw it in fragments. The war, I mean. Brief stops, ship-to-ship transfers, half conversations in war rooms I wasn’t really part of. Enough to know what it was costing people. Not enough to ever feel like I belonged in it. Regardless, it only lasted for a year before Chancellor Palpatine took full power over the Republic and turned it into his Empire.” He leaned back against his seat, expression distant but steady while he thought. “After the Betrayal, that didn’t really change,” he continued. “I just stopped carrying Jedi messages and started carrying anything that kept me off Imperial attention. Freight, contracts, odd jobs. Same ship. Same routes.” He reached under his coat without really thinking about it and drew out his lightsaber. It stayed unlit in his hand as he turned it slowly, thumb brushing along the worn metal near the emitter. The hilt was long and cylindrical, made of darkened silver-grey metal with a matte, weathered finish. Thin gold inlays ran along its body in clean geometric lines, understated rather than decorative, giving it a restrained, traditional elegance. The grip section was smooth, showing faint scuffing and worn edges from long use, especially near the emitter and activation stud. None of the wear looked careless; it had the feel of something maintained through habit rather than neglect. Near the emitter, angular guard-like projections extended outward, forming a crown-like silhouette around the blade housing. “I don’t really use it,” he said. “Not anymore.” He put it back onto his belt and looked back up at Aerith. “I know I'm not a very emotional person, but I do understand what you've gone through. It sounds so much worse than what I had to do. I'm so, so sorry.” Quote btw the lightsaber design is a design I created for myself that I want to create someday. is cool :3 1

He didn’t follow her. There was nothing he could fix by doing that. Instead, he stood up and moved back to the pilot’s seat, lowering himself into it with a slow exhale. He leaned back, staring into the dim interior of the ship, hands resting loosely as the weight of what had just happened sat with him. He felt terrible for bringing up Aerith's past. He wasn’t good at this. Never had been. People weren’t something he handled well. He let out a quiet breath and pulled his dataslate from his jacket. May as well read. He opened the second book in the Metalweaver series and let his attention drift away from the moment, settling into something simpler, something distant enough to keep his thoughts from circling back. “Brando San-Der,” he muttered. “Good writer.”
