If not, then yes! You have much to fear!

Fax, how on earth did you revive the chaos of this thread by saying "Vegetable peeler"?

"Then who will help us, with the Kumquat king still abroad?" [pretend enter key because on watch now) Crackpot theory: VeggieTales is in a dystopian future (enter key] I may be among the less chaotic here, but I'm 900d 3+ preMDts. And auto'ncorkect when on watch.

Watch typing is incredibly difficult

And autocorrect on watch is worse than anything I've ever seen

I just realized how weird edible things are.

Like: Salad. Its a bunch of green stuff with red and orange stuff, all dripping with oozy white stuff

Edible food is bizarre, especially when you look at it and go "Okay, but who first thought eating that was a good idea?"

<pedantry> Technically, inedible food is more bizarre, on account of being a paradox </pedantry>

What?

Eating disorder in which someone feels strong compulsions to eat non-food items. I think there was someone with it who famously ate part of an airplane. It just seemed vaguely relevant

By definition, still not food, even if people eat it.

If Lift drank gasoline, would the high number of calories provide a large amount of Light?

EDIT: actually she probably couldn’t unless she can digest it, as it would turn out.

Questioner

Uranium contains roughly 18 million [kcal/gram], food calories. Could Lift eat uranium to get supercharged?

Brandon Sanderson

Lift has to be able to metabolize it. The way that her abilities work, she has to be able to digest it and metabolize it to get the energy out. She couldn't metabolize uranium; it would just irradiate her.

So in The Stormlight Archiveseries--

Brandon Sanderson

The Stormlight Archive? How old are you? *laughter* How old are you?

Questioner

Nine.

Brandon Sanderson

Nine?! You're reading The Stormlight Archive? You are awesome! *cheers*

Questioner

So the character Lift, for her powers, why does she have to eat food instead of sucking in--

Brandon Sanderson

So why does Lift have to eat food instead of sucking in Stormlight. So Lift is a really weird one, she visited the Old Magic and asked something very strange. And the Old Magic didn't know how to treat that and answered with something equally strange. So you will eventually see what happened with Lift and things like that but suffice it to say some really weird things are going on with Lift.
