Progression and King Groot

How much control does progression have over the shape any plants may take if they use progression on seeds.  Could they take seeds for trees and vines and warp them to grow an encapsulating armor or weapons like King Groot or is that more verdant aethers thing?

I mean, that's pretty much exactly what Magnified Ones do, just using their own carapace instead of growing plants. From the wiki:

• Yazed-im: Magnified Ones can freely channel the Surge of Progression through their own bodies to deliberately and rapidly grow their carapace, without expending their Voidlight.^[108][109] This allows them to form weapons and tools as extensions of their own body.^[110] Magnified Ones cannot channel the Surge of Progression externally in the same ways as Edgedancers or Truthwatchers. They cannot use it to heal others, and they cannot use it to grow plants.^[108]

Progression, as far as we know, changes a physical body to match its cognitive perception of itself. For most people, that essentially just means healing, but for some (like the Magnified Ones), they clearly have a way of adopting a strong cognitive self perception in whatever shape they like, which is probably helped by Singers' inherent ability to change forms.

Getting a plant to grow in a certain way for utility actually sounds more akin to Soulcasting, but it sounds like what the Magnified Ones do naturally is closer to what you're asking anyway.
