pureintonation she/her Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) Art for an as of yet unfinished Cosmere fanfic I’m writing hahaha I will put it all here as I go along… I’ve made a lot already as I am going through a depressi spaghetti time… and manically ricocheting between art, writing, and moderate to slightly excessive alcohol consumption is my only means of keeping it together. My art style is incredibly inconsistent… I can’t seem to decide between anime style or a more illustrative style. I attribute that to a few things. As a child, I drew a lot of anime, but through the years (and art school), I have been encouraged to move away from that. But I’m feeling it now, hahaha. Still, it’s hard for me to commit. Also, IRL I’m an artist whose usual subject matter is… dreamlike, surreal, and symbolic (think random people, objects, and animals that seem unrelated existing on a page, connected by patterns…) and my usual mediums are chalk pastels or oil paint. Was that an explanation? It was a bit odd that Etril hadn’t gone and fallen in love with a woman from Herdaz, given the lengths he went to in order to stifle his Veden upbringing in favor of his maternal ancestry. The troupe often took turns cooking meals, and Etril almost always made chouta. This was usually followed by a lecture on how convenient and portable the meal was, how his mother made it best, and how Herdaz would one day dethrone Alethkar as the cultural center of Roshar. 1

Half Herdazian and half Veden, leans way more into Herdazian culture despite growing up in Jah Keved. Ringmaster, fire breather, juggler, narrator. Janat: Etril’s cousin. Veden. Straight-backed and serious. Document forget and bookkeeper. Vasha: Emuli. Former acrobat, now walks with a limp due to an accident. Costume maker (and mender) extraordinaire. Paints and designs props and sets. Etril’s wife. Mara: Jah Keved native but raised in a Vorin orphanage in Kharbranth. Acrobat. Bonded with a lightspren. Sevlk: animal tamer. Theylen. Could never become a sailor due to a weak stomach. Can make chulls, minks, and horses to do extraordinary things. Harn: acrobat and strongman. Alethi deserter. Peaced out after first battle. pureintonation she/her Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 I was sick for a few days and spent the whole time drawing these outfits. OC sporting Rosharan fashions. Some are based loosely off official art and fanart. Lots of weird Pinterest fashion influence. Also my imaginings of Herdazian and Bavland styles. Above clothes are relevant to the narrative I’m writing, bottom are… mostly for fun. Used a base because I wanted go focus on the clothes and not poses or anything. 4

I almost exclusively use the Gloaming brush or the HB pencil to give it a sketchy feel. there’s a few drawings there that started as physical sketches which i then took a photo of and drew over again on the ipad 1

I’ve seen so much insane stuff done with it… i mostly just use it to sketch tho :,) i make paintings and stuff too (non fan art) and i use it to plan out my paintings. it feels more non committal since I dont have to waste paint or paper to figure things out and some of the paint brushes are so realistic 1
