Trusk'our he/him Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Allomancy works based off of how Invested you are with Preservation, not bodily mass. So, if a Pewterarm suffers a tremendous injury and loses a limb or two, does that mean their Investiture only needs to boost a smaller proportion of body, making the enhancements stronger? For example, a Pewterarm loses an arm in battle- is their other arm (and legs and everything else) now a little bit stronger whenever burning pewter than before since the lost arm's share of Investiture can be routed elsewhere? I think it would make an interesting character where a physically disabled Pewterarm has to learn to use only one arm or have a peg leg or something, but realize there's a silver lining to exploit and use to their advantage. 1
JustQuestin2004 he/him Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) I suppose so, I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work and it does indeed sound interesting. Vin was pretty scrawny, which made her faster and able to jump pretty high, though she wouldn't have been as strong as a brawny Thug, just more agile. Though considering that, according to a quick google search, your limbs only make up around 16-18% of your total body mass, the concentrated boost might not be very large. Also, if we go to just how much the power could possibly be concentrated within a smaller body mass, Thugs with Dwarfism sound terrifying. Edited January 7 by JustQuestin2004 1
