Eye-reading or ear-reading?
Do you happen to know what chapter?

Searching the book, I cannot find any references to the word Librarian (outside of the "other works") or to the phrase "love life." If I knew what chapter you were referencing, I might be able to pinpoint what was actually in the passage.

@Treamayne i dont have the passage but the exact quote is "more twisted than a librarian's love life (trust me theyre a strange bunch)"

Omg im so stupid its in tress not yumi

TES Ch 11:

Spoiler

A treelike burst of vines exploded into existence inches away from Tress. More twisted than a librarian’s love life (trust me, they’re a strange bunch), it writhed with overlapping tendrils. It reminded Tress of her hair most mornings, before she got out her brush.

It likely is an author shout-out to his other work; but from Hoid's point of view there are likely no shortage of strange librarians he could be referencing - like (SA Spoilers) The herald masquerading as a Librarian in the Palanaeum in Kharbranth.

That said, the only non-Cosmere work that was originally in the Cosmere was Rithmatist - so Hoid making an in-Cosmere Earth reference is not likely. WoB:

Questioner

Lines of Protection. Is the field generated once the line is completed? Or is it a progressive thing?

Brandon Sanderson

Almost everything that's going with this takes effect as the person's thinking of it taking effect. There is a mental connection. So, as you are drawing, until you are finished, there is nothing there;  unless, sometimes, you want it to be. There is a direct link. The Rithmatist does have a magic that is consistent with cosmere rules. I decided not to set it in the cosmere primarily because I did not want Earth to be in the cosmere.

Questioner

So how strongly consistent is it with <realmatic theory>?

Brandon Sanderson

I didn't keep myself completely to the rules. It could fit, but... don't take anything The Rithmatist does and apply it to the other books.

@Treamayne yes! That was what i was referencing. Yeah I guess it could be what you mentioned i just specifically think its referencing Alcatraz because of the situation with Alcatraz's mother being a librarian and leaving his father and all that jazz. Could just be an Easter egg but Brandon rarely just says stuff in my experience
