I reckon you think you're doin' a 'neat' job, but you've gone and committed a tragedy. Every one of those buttons was holdin' a memory that kept the Grumble-Gauge from turnin' into a Scream-Meter. And what about the dust bunnies? Those weren't just dirt; they were the ship's way of growin' a bit of fur to keep warm! Now the vents are lookin' all naked and shivering. Wouln't it be weird if I knew you were clearin' the floors just so you could hear my Peeping-Ma-Bob trundlin' toward you before I even let him loose? He was a 7 foot tall lean man with wavy black hair and a baby blue suit and vest with white cloud-like streaks in it and bright white trim. There was a scarf that looped around his shoulders as if wearing pauldrons. One side went down his vest and out of sight while the other strangly stood up with a bend in it. The observant onlookers may notice that the suit design moved. Normally the white streaks slowly circled and swirled. Currently, he was very overstimulated. The alarms, the crew running from place to place, and the shouting about the pirates following us. Worst of all, he was almost out of breaths. As he thought this, his suit tinted a bit more red getting closer to purple. He needed to secure another Breath by tomorrow or he may end up burning his Divine Breath. Of course, closing his eyes stopped none of this. In fact, he didnt even need his eyes necessarily. He could feel all the people as they passed him. He kept walking, keeping track of those he passed. He walked the way he did every morning, not thinking too hard until he arrived. He opened his eyes looking at the door to the bridge. He was pretty comfortable on these ships. After all, he was the captain of one not too long ago. He occasionally tried to bond with Captain Amber Vulture over them both being leaders in the Scadrian military. And while it never really seemed to work at getting them close, Vulture did seem to find him funny so they must have been bonding. Stormseeker reached for the button to open the bridge door. Out of no where there was a screech as his scarf, shrieked and grabbed his arm pulling it away from the door. "What's the matter Scraf?" He said, petting the bend in the scarf as if it was a head. The Scarf didnt respond, but seemed to glare at him. "Well, obviously I can't take your breaths, and its not like theres a ton of Awakeners on this ship. But what are the chances our captain happens to be 4th Heightening? See? I keep telling you I have the boon of luck. Things just always seem to work out in th-" He pushed the button and immediately got pulled towards the void. Paintings that Stormseeker kept placing in the hallways blew past him out the viewport. He saw one bounce off a humanoid object in the distance. "There go all those breaths" he thinks. In this moment, he sees one of his favorite paintings fly past. One of a planet he visited once called Jupiter. It was beautiful chaos. He gave that painting to Vulture hoping to get some of those breaths one day. He lunged for the painting, but right at that moment Scraf wrapped itself around his wrists and pulled him back inside and closed the door. Dejected, he slumped against the wall. "Well Scraf, we're going to have to talk to the others about getting their breaths" ------------------------- Stormseeker stormed over to the mess hall where increasing numbers of crew were gathering. He grabbed a glass and utensil and tapped them together. Everyone continued on as normal. That makes sense it wasnt very loud. He stood on a table in the center of the room and tapped the glass again, flaring sound. As he did, the note became fuller, richer, and louder. As if many glasses were being tapped on at the same time. All in perfect harmony. "Friends and subjects," Stormseeker began, "as our captain is dead, I am in need of more breaths. And very sadly, this is quite an urgent need". He waited for a few seconds. There were no offers. "Alright then!" He continued, "If I don't get my breaths, I propose we throw..." Stormseeker pointed in a random direction away from where he was facing for dramatic effect, "You!" Then quickly looked at who he was talking about "Saffron Iguana/Arnold Johnson out of the hold! What do you have to say to that?" Hide contents Im taking some liberties with returned/awakening powers. Oxblood Beagle Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Levin had been fast asleep when chaos was unleashed upon the ship. His sleeping quarters were far from comfortable. The mattress could hardly be called a mattress as it felt like he was sleeping on cold, hard steel, and there were always shuffling and moving outside his cabin. Nevertheless, he had always been a deep sleeper and almost nothing could shake him from his rest. It was a few hours after the captain had died that he had woken. He was still groggy, but he immediately got the feeling that something was amiss. The ship was moving at an unusually faster pace than it did the previous days and there was panic in the voices of the crew and passengers who passed by his cabin. He was uncertain what to do. He was neither a fighter nor a leader, and going out from his cabin might just bring harm to him. Just then, a memory flashed into his head. It was of a ship similar to this one. There were dead bodies strewn across the floor while passengers and pirates fought for control of the ship. Flames could be observed slowly consuming parts of the ship such as the mast and the starboard. He regained control of his senses. He had gotten used to these scenes occasionally infiltrating his mind. He had no recollection of these events ever happening in his life, so he had theorised that either these were visions warning him of bad omens or these were memories from previous lives he had led. Whichever case it was, it was enough to convince him that he had to get himself involved. The ship was still quite far from any safe shores and he should not expect anyone else to rescue him from this predicament. And so, he left his room and planned to gather information on what happened exactly before taking any action.
