Trusk'our he/him Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Marasi and the Allomancers of the Community burned through all of the Investiture of Autonomy's secret Well on Scadrial. A truly enormous amount of Investiture needed to flow through them for this process- Marasi herself guessed it to be thousands of times more than what the jars of Purified Dor held. Spoiler She didn't have to think hard to grasp the mythological implications of this place. Rusts. That was raw, concentrated power. A single jar had given TwinSoul the power to create a stone body twelve feet tall, a second had transformed Moonlight into another person, and a third had given Armal the power to Riot emotions like the Lord Ruler himself. This pool had to hold thousands of jars' worth of the power. TLM, pg. 396 This makes me wonder, would the amount of Investiture be enough to have lingering aftereffects on them or their descendants? Something similar to becoming a Sliver or Cognitive Shadow (when they die)? Furthermore, would their Spiritwebs become aligned with Autonomy's power assuming it was her Investiture at that Perpendicularity? Might be interesting to see this allowing Autonomy to Connect to some of those people in the future, maybe lead to a new version of the Set. As a bonus thought, both Marasi and Wax held the Bands of Mourning, bearing enough Investiture that they had Mists seeping from their bodies. Probably less Investiture than Autonomy's Perpendicularity, but perhaps enough to still have a residue on their Spiritwebs? 4
JustQuestin2004 he/him Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 I doubt it, since all that Investiture was just Unkeyed from any source, and was likely sourced from the Dor like the other Jars were. I think at most it might have brought them all a step or two closer to Savantism, but other than that I doubt much is going to happen to them, the power is likely much less then the Well of Ascension and was even split up amongst over a dozen people, so I doubt it would result in Slivers or Cognintive Shadows since the power wasn't stored into them, it was channeled through them and fueled their powers then was used up. As for the Bands? Also doubt it, it gave them a new perspective of power and souls and whatnot, but other than that? Not much. The Metallic Arts don't cause immediate changes to the soul when supercharged, besides Hemalurgy that is.

Why do you say that? I don't remember anyone in that scene saying the Investiture was unkeyed. (I have a bad memory, so I'm not doubting you.)

If it was Autonomy-Flavored Investiture then they probably wouldn't have been able to use it for the same reasons that an Allomancer couldn't use another Shard's Investiture directly like Stormlight. Plus, Autonomy's Investiture has the properties of repelling other types of Investiture like Trellium, there's no reason to expect that a liquid form of it would not have the same properties, so an Autonomy Pool would probably push itself away from Allomancer's from trying to use it. 1
