I woke, my eyes opened in darkness, and I could not see. No, it was just completely dark. I couldn't move my hands either, try as I might. I tried to speak, and to my surprise, my voice, cold, raspy from lack of use, came out.

"So this is what they do to me?" My voice rasped. "Lock me away for- how long has it been? And where am I?"

I try to remember what the most recent thing I remember is. I see it, the amies marching, they're destroying everything, a small group. 5 people, maybe, I can't remember their faces. Then a bright flash of light. Then here. "It's been 400 years," I whisper. I struggle, but can only move my head. "Why wake now?" I smile. "Be ready, my retribution will be swift and brutal."

Keir had risen up; the ranks of soldiers were a cutthroat place. He was called to the officers' hall. He was almost giddy with excitement as he took a seat opposite the Colonel. "We know what you are." He said frankly, with no preamble. My excitement was not just stamped out, but made ice cold, replaced with a cold despair. What was it? How did they find out? Was it when I beat Oel? I did throw him quite hard against the wall. I outwardly kept my expression frozen, then twisted it into confusion. "What?" I pretended shock.

"Oh, give up the facade, we've known what you are for weeks. We've just been trying to catch you with enough evidence." I kept the confused expression plastered on my face, "What... What?" I stammered.

Then the Colonel grinned, "Welcome. I apologize for the accusation; it's common enough, and we catch all sorts of critters by pretending we know something that we don't." "So... that was all fake?" I asked hesitently. Of course, they did something like this; they didn't actually know anything, I should've expected this. I sighed inwardly as the Colonel handed me something, a pin, one worn by all the officers, giving me basic access to everything the officers had. "T-t-thank you, sir." I stammered. "You deserve the promotion." They said briskly. "Your quarters are at B8-904." Building B, subfloor 8. Just like the limited maps I'd seen had shown.

"It is close to midday, I recommend you go to the mess hall first. Get something to eat." He said, "Thank you, sir, I will do just that."

I stepped out of the office briskly and walked to the mess hall, putting the pin in its place as I walked. This has been a wonderful day.  A wonderful day indeed. I reached the doors to the mess hall and walked through.

Theani smiled as she looked over the paintings, placing a match to each in turn.

Destruction of ideals fulfilled her, in a way, and the destruction of art was a  way to make her own mark on the world.

Some tried to characterize her by her thievery. Expert thefts, they called them. They ignored the mark, but the mark was for her and her alone.
