TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 I just imagined the Doctor saying that, but then it didn't make sense because he's always been a worldhopper. The Doctor visits the Cosmere. Why has this not happened yet? I mean, there's the whole "TARDIS can't visit alternate universes" thing, but they've gotten around it before.

You would just let Roshar burn if it meant killing Odium?" Hoid: "Well didn't you do that to Gallifrey to kill the daleks?" Doctor: "It got better!" 3
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Sam with glasses? Darn. Now I have to find a way to make this canon. It´s kind of funny how both of us want to get glasses for their characters now. Kobold and I have a certain character killing that we have planned for the war, but I'm not sure when exactly. The Black Fist also needs to get somewhat through the plan. Part of that depends on if the War will destroy Portland completely. Electro?
Fatebreaker he/him Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Dodgeball post for the Attack on Thought Town. This is why we shouldn't let crazy hyperactive teenagers with superpowers have guns. We're lucky he didn't shoot any of his allies.

So, general Reckonerverse question: how prevalent are tights in Epic costumes? It's no secret that the Reckonerverse is a deconstruction of comic book universes, and skin-tight costumes are arguably a staple of the genre. Superman wears a tight costumes that accentuates his muscles, Wonder Woman wears tights that accentuate... er, other things. Are Epics prone to wearing tight flashy costumes like Steelheart, or do most of them wear crisp suits like Fortuity and Deathpoint?

Are Epics prone to wearing tight flashy costumes like Steelheart, or do most of them wear crisp suits like Fortuity and Deathpoint? Does that mean Adonalasium was some kind of Time Lord technology? Honestly, I´m not sure. The impression I got is that, with the exception of the early masks to protect their identity before the capitulation act, Epics just don´t give a chull and wear whatever they want to and are comfortable with, so all kinds of costums would be for style alone. Even Steelheart "only" wore a cape in addition to rather normal clothes and not a fullblown costume. Edited December 5, 2014 by Edgedancer
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 I'm not convinced that Hoid isn't a future incarnation of the Doctor. I think it probably depends on the Epic, on how they see themselves. Just look at various comic book universes. X-Men comics have each X-Man or member of the Brotherhood, Hellfire Club, what have you wearing something that fits their personality, though they all have one thing in common: spandex. (Come to think of it, Marvel writers seem to like spandex more than any human should. ) DC comics have a bit more variety, especially when it comes to rogues galleries—Batman has foes like Catwoman who wears spandex, but also Bane, who wears pants, that freaky mask, and sometimes a shirt. And then there's the Joker, and if you don't know what he wears by now then there's no hope for you. So like comic book writers, who design primarily on aesthetics (and, um, other things) I think Epics choose costumes based on what they think looks good on them. 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Does that mean we can expect a tights wearing Epic? 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 Does that mean we can expect a tights wearing Epic? When their growing rivalry finally reaches its breaking point, Funtimes will snap and Lightwards will find himself in a fetching unitard and pair of tights with a matching cape. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Good points. Personally I think a decent number of Epics do--at the very least, the more powerful ones that like drawing attention to themselves. I forgot that Steelheart wore relatively normal clothes and not exactly "tights." Though the description in the book seems to indicate his shirt fit rather snugly and accentuated his muscle mass. Does that mean we can expect a tights wearing Epic? Just a general question. Though I am still pondering what Jingleberry's likely to wear. When their growing rivalry finally reaches its breaking point, Funtimes will snap and Lightwards will find himself in a fetching unitard and pair of tights with a matching cape. This comment alone makes this entire conversation worthwhile. 2

The one thing I got from the book is that Epics like to show off. Whatever they have that they think is worth bragging about, that's what they accentuate. A red leotard with black buttons, a white ruffled miniskirt, thigh-high black boots, and a red and white cape with a Santa hat? If we made it Ascended Fanon, would Lightwards break the fourth wall just to kill and raise us? Also, it looks like there will be a surprise very soon. A good surprise. 1

They certainly aren´t concerned with modesty, I would guess, (To be honest i´m kinda sorta working on that awesome sword Epic, I joked about and his clothes probably won´t be normal, although certainly no thights. ) The shirt I think yes but I remember that his pants were "loose but not baggy." I kinda assumed she´s wearing a miss Santa outfit.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 Do you know what makes me sad? Knowing there's a beer out there called Koschei the Deathless, but being unable to find it anywhere in town. Do you know what makes me happy? Finding songs for Nathan and the MoNA. 1

Do you by any chance own either a Remington or a Springfield rifle? That could cheer you up. That second one is so precisely what Funtimes must think of the Museum, it's eerie. Myself, I've just been listening to "Counting Scars" on repeat when I think of Oregon Epics. 1

I don't personally, but my dad and brother do. It's very cheering. It's what she pictures the Museum singing as it floats in the air, glowing. She just wishes Lightwards weren't such a poo-poo head so she could have it blast that song at full volume. If only the pony creator had a lion-skin cape option. 1

The worst part is that I start wondering which Epics would sing different parts of the song while I listen to it. If the creator had a lion-skin cape, then maybe I could finally get some closure from this. 3

Well, should Nighthound, Lightwards and Koschei argue who gets to play Scar, Nighthound has the distinct advantage that he can kill and torture the other two until they give the roll to him... and afterwards Funtimes gets to play Elevate. 2

See, I can easily picture Lucentia singing the intro chorus, followed by Lightwards singing Hades' line ("I see this life like a line of thread, build your evil 'till you're dead…") with Koschei as Scar. It works just as well with Koschei singing Hades' line and Nighthound as Scar. Dad, promise me that in case a Zomby-Apocalypse happened I get your rifle, I even named a imagined person after it. But…but Nighthound and Koschei were supposed to be friends! Koschei as God-King of Oregon and Nighthound as his trusted lieutenant! ….. Actually, it's better if they don't get along. Better for everyone. 2

Koschei would work pretty well with Hades and Lightwards as Jafar. Although Funtimes making him cry is more acurate.... Well, you may now imagine her in a lion fur cape. You´re not nighthound´s friend if you don´t let him play Scar. Furthermore, what´s a few insignificant deaths between friends? 2

Lately I've been, I've been getting sleep Dreaming about how crazy I could be Epics I've been, I've been trying hard No more being meanies Or I'll trap you in a jar Depends on whether or not there's already a friendship in place. Funtimes doused Nighthound in acid and tried to trap him in pancake batter, and they're enemies. And it also depends on the circumstances. A deadly projectiles fight, just because? Friendship preserved. Assassination attempt? Nighthound, prepare to meet your weakness. And an anvil. To the face. 4

The reason Nighthound hates Funtimes is mostely because of her personality. It´s not like he minds Ray stabbing him over and over, he also took Lucentia impaling him rather well. Naturally, he would care even less had I gone with the Omega variant but I didn´t. I was thinking more of a "friendly squabble." 1

I know there's a whole school of "opposites attract" theorists when it comes to friendships and romance, but Funtimes and Nighthound are the exception that threatens to burst the rule apart at the seams. If there is a way for them to get along that does not involve one of them dead or otherwise incapacitated, I can't think of it. That could allow both to leave alive. Healing from injuries, but alive. 1
Newan he/him Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 I want to create a character who is awkward, content, friendly and oblivious, just so this can be its song. 1
