I figured that's how Funtimes would demand to be referred to once she becomes empress of Portland.

I was just reading back into the RP and I just got to the scene with Nathan and Funtimes in the cabin for the first time, it's one of my favourite scenes yet, it's just such great characterization for Funtimes, it's so sweet but also tragic. You need to get some works published ASAP Twi.

Is the AM/MoNA meeting* proceeding any time soon? Otherwise I might just go ahead with the MEE attack and we can just set it on a later timeline, I'd just hate for the Portland thread to stagnate.

Is it odd that I actually find ponification to be somewhat helpful in my characterization? I guess it helps since it forces me to visualize my characters in a way I wouldn't normally think to do, compelling me to think of which defining traits of the character need to be included in the pony.

 

(Sadly I haven't had the opportunity to ponify any entirely original characters... simply as I don't have any worth the effort so far. I'm lousy at creating characters without some sort of hook idea. Original planets and alien races? Got 'em by the dozen. A single character with enough distinctiveness to warrant a pony? I've got nothing of the kind.)

See, whenever I try to plan a story my brain screams "This story isn't worth writing if I can't fit the Nyssan Gazelle-People into it!" Never mind the fact that I don't even know who the protagonist would be, who the antagonist would be, or even what the basic plot would be. I've got a lot of splotchy worldbuilding covering half a galaxy, and nothing to do with it and no directions to expand it in.

 

Maybe I'll just write a story with a Nyssan Gazelle-Person as the main character. That'll solve all my problems, right?

 

 

Thanks. I just don't like feeling like I'm wrecking things for everybody else. I tried writing earlier today, but I've still been down in the dumps and I haven't been able to write anything decent. Hopefully tomorrow I can put my post together.

I totally understand. Really. When you just don't feel like doing anything at all, except maybe eating ice cream, which doesn't taste the same…seriously, I've been there. I don't know what to say except that it'll get easier. 

 

And, if we must, we can always put Lightwards on a bus. By which I mean Saccharine can make some knockout darts and Funtimes can tie Lightwards hand and foot and toss him onto a bus. Probably one driven by BusDriver.

I've actually seen some awesome science fiction focused around a species as a whole. I might actually play with that idea, since the Nyssans are my current worldbuilding project.

I concur with TwiLyght's episode recommendations, and would like to add "Blink" and "Human Nature / The Family of Blood." Scratch that, just watch the whole series, it's amazing.

 

Oh. "Love and Monsters." It says a lot about the episode that the main antagonist was the creation of a small child who won a contest. While I've seen some amazing things come out of a child's imagination, the villain of "Love and Monsters" really feels like a contest winner. :/

Actually, no. You see, ponies belong to the horse family, which in turn is part of the larger order Perissodactyla, or the odd-toed ungulates. Gazelles, however, are a part of Artiodactyla, the even-toed ungulates. There are a number of radical morphological dissimilarities between ponies and gazelles, beginning with the number of toes that make up their respective hoof structures...
