Don't know if this has already been done before, but here it is.

I have decided that it is time to find the strongest character in all of literature. Well, not strongest strongest, because some just outright break physics, but all the others.

This is not going to be one tournament, but two happening simultaneously: a spoiler-free tournament and a spoilery one.

As an example, let's a say there's a match between Vin and Kaladin. Two battles happen between them, one where Vin only has her 'luck' (Soothing) and Kaladin is just really good with a spear, because that's how they were intorduced.

In the spoilery one, Vin has [HoA]

Spoiler

Access to all 12 known non-god metals at the time, as well as her bronze-granting earring.

And Kaladin has [WaT]

Spoiler

The Surges of Gravitation and Adhesion, a Shardbalde, Shardplate and passive Stormlight enhancements.

And he's really good with a spear.

Any secret abilities that readers don't know about initially won't be part of the non-spoilery battle.

If a different character wins the spoilery and the non-spoilery ones, then a different character progresses to the next round. As a result, it is very likely that there will be 2 champions.

Ya'll can submit more characters; don't worry if it's from something I haven't read. Just include what book/series they're from, non-spoilery powers, and spoilery powers in a spoiler box. If a character doesn't gain any powers and no secret ones are revealed, then spoiler it anyway, because the lack of change can spoil stuff. However, they can't be characters that outright break physics or characters that use 'hacks' (like TLR). Resonances are permitted. I'd also like it if no one broke the first law of thermodynamics (energy cannot be created or destroyed). They don't have to be powerful; I have people like Lightsong in here. Though I will say that characters outside of Sci-fi/Fantasy won't really work well here.

The only rules in the battles are that characters lose when you sever your Connection to the Physical Realm. This is so that highly Invested characters can't just commit suicide and chill in the CR until their opponent fades, but also allows for folks to still use things like Elsecalling. Accessing other dimensions, like the Nowhere, is allowed. I'm also going to say that all characters are motivated to fight, otherwise Spensa would probably win :P.

The battles will be one-on-one, though I'll have to decide the tournament format based on the number of characters. Winners of battles will be determined by a discussion between anyone who wants to contribute for the non-spoilery battle, and anyone wishing to contribute that has read the relevant books/series for the spoilery ones.

This will start when I deem there are enough characters.

I'm thinking like what you know by the end of the chapter where you first hear their name (But ask Quesos)

I submit Rand, though that may be broken.

Not done with WoT yet, but this feels pretty broken. Rand feels broken by book 2, tbh

unrelated: how much prep/supplies do the characters get? Does Kal get a Spear? if so, does spin get MBOT?

If you're thinking ORV, before the first scenario.

I'm actually about a 100 pages into the first book.

Kal gets a spear, Spin does not get M-Bot. She gets a light-line, because she had that at the start.

Interesting. I'll have to look into it.

Haven't read the others.

I'm adding all of these characters to the list.

What if they appear after the first scenario?

What then?

Aren't there characters whose entire existence is a spoiler?

Crasedes Magnus is the last case, and I'm thinking of just making him not be part of the non-spoilery one.

If they appear later but aren't spoiling anything, then whatever they're introduced with.

I don't think counts as double-posting so

I forgot about this earlier, but Harry breaks Newton's 3rd Law and the First Law of Thermodynamics, so...

I can let Percy slide, his powers are well defined (at least where I'm at), but Newton's 3rd Law is kind of a must, so Harry is out

Alright this will start soon

@CoderDrag0n8 and anyone else, your characters?

Edit:

I'm on the Great Hunt now, and see why Rand is broken. I was going to say Crasedes probably would win the spoilery one, but now... it would still be a close fight though

Also, for those of you who've finished WoT, would Perrin be good to add?

What worldline? 41st?

Edit: Spoilers for pretty much everyone except Coder

Spoiler

But Judge of Monsters is so much better, the activation is easier to get, and you just have to justify the person being a monster, which can include those that aren’t evil. Plus, it’s probably not allowed, but incite.

That depends on which one we’re talking about

Wait there's two

I think this goes with what you know, since you’re 15 chapters in. He’s on the third regression, that makes three
