It is described as dark and oil like so maybe the "prophet" contained the demon keeping it from gifting the aethers to create aetherbound because they saw Midnight Essence as too dangerous in the future. The sword could also prevent anyone else from using that demon's aether.

Random thought is yumi and the nightmare painter maybe set on a plant created by Whimsy? The ridiculousness of stacking stones for Investiture and spirits liking TV romances or whatever it was seems like a Whimsy planet.

Well if its a known Planet Ashyn seems the most likely.

For Dhatri I dont think that an Aether would manifest as a liquid, also there would be the Question were the Fortune for the Vision came from.

Although I agree that the Demon River is probably Invested, Selish investiture is linked to a region but most of the time its utiliziwd in some way through Language/Writing System.

Also The Investiture of YatNP is linked to Virtuosity

And I have to admitt, a new Planet is generally my favorite here, because I like seeing more of the Cosmere.

Although I hope we will see more of Ashyn at somepoint in the Future.

Someone’s probably said this already… but I think it would be a very interesting and very Sanderson thing to let someone see the future, but they have to get to the point they want to see in real time. And wasn’t there a Prophet mentioned? So the world already has a future-seeing form of Investiture? That’s what I think is the explanation for seemingly breaking the “no time travel” rule.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but this can't be where Hoid get's his "favorite magic system" as it takes place between Stormlight 5 and 6 and he has it much earlier

Fires of December is post-Stormlight Five. Pre-Stormlight Six.

We know that directly after Stormlight Five Hoid is on Scadrial and, if I'm not mistaken, in the epilogue of WaT he mentions needing to find Valor. I think that after Era 2, he finds Valor planet and becomes a "local jester"

No, not really. Maybe, there's a minor Warbreaker connection. The only crossover/cameo thing that you'll appreciate more is if you've read Warbreaker, so if you haven't you may want to. But you really don't need to. I wrote Fires of December to be a classic standalone.
