Basically this was a thought I had, and it sounded like a good idea in my head but we’ll see how this goes. I tried something similar to this with my friends, but…. that…. didn’t…. really go well……

I’d prefer not to talk about it….

Hopefully this one goes better.

Rules

Spoiler

The goal is to write a story, one sentence at a time, that all comes together to make a some sort of sense.
Each person writes a sentence that makes sense with the sentence preceding it. You can introduce characters, thoughts, places, whatever, just now that whoever writes the next sentence has control over how it develops. I want this to be unplanned, so don’t do multiple sentences in a row or plan with others.
I’m going to limit the time period for ease of continuity. Think modern city life. I’m not going to limit genre though, if you want romance, do romance, if you want dragons, write about modern-day dragons. This will also be in first person, so sorry for those who write in third-person.

I don’t have anything beyond that. Obey Shard rules, and be kind. If any clarification is needed, I’ll update this. If it’s part of the story, bold it, so I can tell what’s a question and what you don’t understand.

Ease of Understanding

Spoiler

In order to make sure everyone knows what the story is and doesn’t have to scroll through all of this to understand the story, please have the story in your post(in a spoiler for length) and then your sentence outside of that. This is so that people can look at the most recent post, and this, and immediately be able to start their sentences.

The spoiler box will be needed since this will become pretty long, since we’re adding a sentence a post. So please start doing that. An easy way to do this would be to copy/paste what’s in the previous spoiler box, and then copy their sentence into it.

My Sentence:

Lights glared down from fluorescent tubes, headache throbbing behind my eyes.

Where had all the light come from?

(This might be better in Forum Games?)

It didn’t make sense, everything was so… bright.

(Idk, but I don’t think I can move it, I’d have to hide this post and then create it again in that. I’ll check again to see if I can move it though)

I tried to find the source of the light, but couldn't find it.

Thought it was in third person, swapped it into first person

I was sure I heard something….

(I’ll have to think about that, it’d probably make this easier. If I do, I’ll make sure to let y’all know)

This thread:

Does something very similar, heres how it could be replicated:

Lights glared down from fluorescent tubes, headache throbbing behind my eyes. Where had all the light come from? It didn’t make sense, everything was so… bright. I tried to find the source of the light, but couldn't find it. Were those... voices I could hear? I shuddered, looking around to see if anyone was nearby. There was — was there? I rubbed my eyes, vision clearing to reveal someone beside me. Palindromic feelings aside, it was hard to make out the pers—whatever it was.

"Hello, Protagonist," Said a voice behind me.

I started in surprise, whirling my head around to get a look. But there seemed to be nothing but air behind me. I was sure I heard something…

"Can you not see me?"

Tell me if this works (and if i missed anything)

I couldn’t see anything unusual, just the plain tiled wall.

(I updated the the starting post, just added the ease of understanding, if y’all could check that out it’d be great)
