She threw the confetti-ified paper onto the floor, took another swig, looked at the shreds and put up her arms like “What are you going to do, stop me?"

You for some reason remeber the thing the man you'd met had poured into his drink

The voices faded out as you walked away.

"Plenty."

Kole looked back and forth between the two of them as they talked, trying to keep up.

The woman looked at him. "You're a quiet one."

She didn’t really care. Going at all had been a mistake.

The paper started to get blown subtly by the airflow

"So I've been told."

"Why are you so quiet?"

She let it. She couldn’t trust that anyone would actually do anything good for her.

You could hear the sounds of the bar below you, but it seems too quiet.

Oh, no they didn’t. They weren’t going to take advantage of the curiosity in human nature to get her in their clutches. Mm, mm.

"I'm just careful with my words."

"That's something many people could use more of."

After a minute, the noise of the bar picks up to normal levels again.

Kole said nothing.

She laughed

See, she was just imagining things. Sometimes the drinking helped her forget, sometimes it made the world seem crazy. This must just be one of the latter. She’d sleep it off and hopefully tomorrow would be the former.

The half-drunk bottle is still where you left it before going out to eavesdrop.

"What's your name?"

Kole saw the young girl speak, but did catch what she said. The darkness and the way the other two were kept a moderate distance from each other and from him made it very difficult to catch everything by eating lips. He cleared his throat. "Again?"

She’d drink the rest tomorrow. She flopped on the bed.

She couldn't sleep, too many things going on in her head, keeping her awake.

She groaned and gave up. She downed the other half of the bottle and glared at the ceiling.

The things going on in your head immediately got quieter
