Then she had no reason to be here. She started towards the inn.

The conversations had started petering out anyways

They opened the door into the same room, and inside sat the same masked man from earlier, along with another, quite burly man.

Well, that went better than expected. Oswald though

"That doesn't seem right."

This time. Kole caught part of what she said, and guessed the rest. "Yeah, guess so."

Cora glanced at the two of them.

"Well, maybe we could piece together what's going on? I usually deliver messages, sometimes supplies, if someone pays me enough."

"A courier? Someone so young?"

She had gotten nothing from listening to the conversations. These people were crazy to think anything could change. And no one was pure hearted enough to genuinely want life to improve in the undercity.

Cora felt slightly attacked but tried not to show it.

She shrugged.

"I got a job with the right people. And I get better food this way. What do you do? Who are you?"

"I'm Lisa. I'm a thief in Sector 34."

As you're walking back to the inn, you overhear one more hushed conversation. "He is, the one I'm sure of it."

She stopped walking but didn’t turn.

"You're certain? How do you know he isn't just pretending?" "I can see it in their eyes."

Cora nodded. "Nice. I bet that's pretty... eventful."

She stood and listened.

"So what do we do? Follow him?" "If he is, then yes." They say something unfamiliar.

Her eyes narrowed and she kept walking.

The voices faded out as you walked away.

"Got any cool stories?"

"Plenty."

These people are crazy. There’s no good people in the world, whatever their goal is it will fail.

I don’t even know what they were talking about, ‘I’d be perfect to help them’. She scoffed quietly. All I’m good at is drinking, hiding, and scrubbing floors.

You make it back to the inn

She glared at it for about thirty seconds before sighing and reading it.

It reads:

Spoiler

"You heard the people talking, there is someone who wants things to change. You don't believe that it can, though.

I'll meet you soon. 'His descent was like nightfall.'"

She growled, crumpled the paper, and threw it on the floor.

It bounced like paper does; there's more writing on the back.
