How would Era 1 Mistborn characters react to Era 2 Mistborn? As an example, if an Era 1 character like Elend were to see Era 2, how would he react? Would he like what he was seeing or not?

How would at least these characters: Elend, Vin, Breeze, Dockson, Spook, and anyone else you want.

I would personally like to know how they would react to the current-day government, especially Elend.

If y'all finish the first prompt, a fun what-if to debate is if Elend were to come back, what would he do to the government? Assume he has his allomancy, and if you want, you can include Vin too.

This was accidentally posted to the wrong forum, so we asked teh mods to move it to Mistborn Forum (please see Sharder FAQ for more info). As for your questions, it depends on the character(s). I would guess that those that survived teh Catacendre and had a hand in Founding Elendel (Spook, Beldre, Hammond, Ladrian, etc.) would be much less overawed than those that did not survive the Catacendre (Tindwyl, Clubs, Dockson) and were unaware of the events at the climax of HoA.

We do know, at least, how one Era 2 character felt about an Era 1 character though - SoS Ch 19:

Spoiler

Wax’s own ancestor Edgard Ladrian. Portly and self-satisfied, in his portrait he held a cup of wine. He’d always looked like the sort of person Wax would want to punch on sight. The type who was certainly guilty of something.

Hope that helps

I guess Elend probably wouldn't be terribly happy about the corruption in the senate as of Era 2, though with some people like Marasi and the other guy from SoS that I can't remember the name of, with people like them able to become governor he might feel a lot more hopeful about this system as yes it's not perfect by any means. But at least it isn't a complete dead end either and has room to grow. It allows common people a chance to have their say, and that's the important part.

I bet Elend would not do anything to the government, even if his return could easily allow him much sway over it, but I'm pretty sure that would go against what he tried to fight for in the first place, a government that doesn't need a king to rule.

He might work subtly, through an alias perhaps, give some good people some support. But I doubt he'd try and pull off a kind of Second Coming of his own. He's smarter than that.

Aradel and Dockson would both consider the people around them to be extremely irritating, but they'd be fond of them anyway. They could probably bond over that.

Other than that, Dockson would be utterly exasperated by the state of the government and maybe try to start yet another revolution.

Marsh of Era 1 seems OK with the Northern Continent culture you refer to. Kelsier looks on them as far too accepting of aristocracy.

I think people like Vin would be fascinated to learn about the Southern Continent.
