The man who looks like he literally went through hell and back walks out of his room and into the main hall area.

Suddenly, something massive and inhuman blocks your way. It's a sopping wet dual-headed wyvern.  "Watch it!" The left head said, while the right one just whispered "Sorry!"

For future reference, a lot of teleportation methods might be unreliable in Breakwater because the absolute and relative positions of different places are changing constantly

"Oh, sorry," He said. "I just came from a world where everyone died, and I am still not used to living things existing."

The woman flipped through a binder. “Let’s see then. I believe we have a few jobs open in like teaching sort of roles. We need people to lead/guide the experiences for guests. The last people… left. You’d probably end up staying here. Free of charge of course. And you’d have access to all the same things as the guests. For every class/experience you lead you would get paid. Does that seem like something you’re interested in?”

Samuel lets out a big breath of relief

"Yeah, that'd be wonderful."

He sets down his briefcase on the dest and starts pulling out papers

"Here's my resume, I've had some prior experience as a tour guide so that should help. When could I start?"

She grabs the resume and puts it in a folder.

”Well there’s some paperwork you’ll have to fill out first. Standard tax forms and a contract and such. As soon as that’s done and you’ve got an idea of what kinds of experiences or classes you want to lead we’ll get word out to the guests so that people can come to your classes and such. Just write down what you want to do on this paper.”

She slides some papers and a key card across the desk. “You can take all that to your room to work on. Once you’re done call room service and they’ll tell you how to turn in the papers. And give you some further instructions. Any questions?”

"Well, if you still don't believe me- which I can clearly tell by your tone-here! Watch this!" Kjerled got out of the way of the door. "Kiro-Kiro, come attack this guy who's name I forgot!" Kjerled gestured at Aria, but Kiro-Kiro still did not move. It was eating some steak out of a bowl.

If she didn’t want it to attack, it wouldn’t attack. Physical motions didn’t change that. But there would be no use arguing. Some beliefs didn’t change overnight, or at all, even when they were wrong. “All right, then. If there’s no one else here, I’ll leave you and your…pet.”

The worker moves to pick up the platypus.

”Perhaps you would like to visit the pool? You can swim there. Completely free of course. Especially for you.”

The platypus seemed to nod. Realistically, it probably didn't (it was just a platypus), but that's what it seemed to do.

The worker carried the platypus through the lobby, down the first hallway on the right all the way down to the last door.

Through the door was the Olympic sized pool. The worker set down the platypus by the edge of the pool and sat down next to it.

”Here you go.”

"Ah. This place looks nice." Viro grabs a snack from the refrigerator and eats it. She also takes the TV remote for no apparent reason.

Sandy hands Named an unkeyed duraluminmind with enough charge for Named to compound and keep his chromaturgy running for a long, long time.

Sandy ironpulls the remote from Viro's hands, also for no apparent reason.

"Are you staying here? I'm going back."

Interesting... Well my point still stands, it should be taken into account that one cannot reliably know the relative positions of different rooms in this hotel. So be cautious

Ahh but Sandy here has a Connection to Named, and while he holds Ishar's Honorblade, he can tell where Named is.

Well... Cosmere physics, but...

Sandy was created from alternate timeline stuff that was going on in Battle for the Sandwich.

He's been in plenty of Threads since, and is insanely overpowered like a lot of things from BftS.

He's slowly dying though, decaying into a human-sized quantum particle.

But that'll be in a while.

“No. You will not touch my belongings.”

The bellhop nodded. “Alright then.” He led the man to the grand staircase in the main lobby. Once they were both on the staircase he clapped his hands twice and the stairs started to move upwards much like an escalator. However the only people the stairs seemed to move were them. In no time at all (or at least much less time than if they had climbed the stairs themselves) they reached the fifth floor.

The bellhop led him down the first hallway and stopped six doors down.

”I believe this is your room sir.”

"Thank you, that should be fine..."

As Samuel is about to walk away, he falters and looks back

"Well I have one question. I've heard some... strange things about this hotel. I'm sure people exaggerate, but..."

He trails off.

The woman smiled. “Well strange things happen no matter where you are. And we have strange guests sometimes. Is there anything specific you’re worried about?”

"Well I could've sworn I saw a platypus around here..."

He shakes his head and smiles again

"I'm sure it's nothing. Erm, where's the elevator?"

He looks around, but can't seem to find it.
