As he does, he findhethat...he's already there. Cep didn't pull his mind, it connected it to the Mindscape while still allowing him to participate in the Hall of Doorways.

About 10 minutes later, a humanoid person is flung outside of that door, along with a small dragon thing. "What the- Chervist! You can't just- ugh, that little- oh. Hi ... guys!" She turns towards you all.

That entrance wasn't smooth but whatever
