City or timeline maps

I am a strong visual learner.  I really enjoy the maps when playing DnD because you can see the action play out.  I am thinking of making a timeline road that the characters will cross as the story line progresses, maybe it will flow through the different locations.  Has anyone one created any Stormlight maps that can inspire me?

You could try the Interactive Roshar Map  (also found under the "More" menu on the forum header) - it sounds at least similar to what you are asking. 

It does take some practice and experiementing to get familiar with how it works.
