FOREWARNING: this is kind of grim, so don't read it if you're squeamish

Alright yeah so this might be a little bit messed up, sorry :P

But I was really genuinely thinking about this, so you guys get to hear about it too!

So, I've devised some methods of torture for some specific Metallic Art users (well some are more torture than others).

For example, a Firesoul (F-Brass).

A Firesoul is suspended above a pit of molten brass, and given access to no metals other than a spike holding them up above the brass.

Then, the Firesoul is lowered into the molten brass. The Firesoul is then allowed to store heat into the brass, but for a brief moment they are in extreme pain. After about 3 or 4 minutes, they are raised out of the molten brass, and allowed "rest" (they are still being cooked by the heat from the molten metal).

This method would likely be very effective, as the Firesoul would be forced to endure the pain from the heat in the air, and extreme pain from a brief touching of the brass before being able to store away that heat. Eventually, done enough, this would make the molten metal cool enough to solidify, and upon this happening, the Firesoul would be lowered, and encased from the waist down in the extremely hot metal.

If the Firesoul were to stop storing at any point during this process, the pain they would endure before dying would be immense.

Another example, for an Aluminium Gnat (A-Aluminium), one that is actually a WoB:

What benefit does an aluminum savant get? Yes, I know this would normally never happen because aluminum burns itself up. Suppose a mad scientist with a willing Mistborn test subject shoved a feeding tube down the Mistborn's throat to pump in a continuous stream of aluminum, replenishing it steadily so there's always a new unburned supply. Add another tube to pump out excess water if necessary. What would he discover? Alternatively, what would Sazed with his Shard-granted knowledge know?

Ha, that IS a little silly of a method. However, on the extreme end of aluminum, I have in the notes the possibility of cleansing the spirit of unwanted effects of other Investitures. You'd get really good at this, and maybe even be able to cleanse the body of other impurities.

17th Shard Forum Q&A (Sept. 27, 2012)

I can also see this method being used for some kind of extremely religious monk type deal, where the practitioner "cleanses their soul" through this method (though currently a tad expensive)

Windwhisperer (F-Tin)

In this method, a victim is given increasingly small bits of tin, while being subjected to immense amounts of pain, such as with traditional torture methods. Then, they come to rely on tin, almost like a drug, relying on storing the pain so as to not feel anything. They might also have to be blindfolded, so as to not pre-emptively store tin before the pain starts. They begin to associate tin with not feeling anything (i.e. no more pain)

Then you may control the person, effectively making them a slave, as they will do anything for a bit of tin.

Steelrunner (F-Steel)

Have a hamster-wheel setup, where the output is tied to a powergrid or something. This one is more just forced labour but still.

In the future-ish, could have several steelrunners imprisoned in individual cells, in steel manacles or something, that is placed on them via a robot hand, so no steelrunner is given the opportunity to tap and kill a guard or something.

Then, they are forced to run on the hamster wheels, to generate electricity. If they do not, or they do not run for long enough, etc., then I guess they're probably like killed or something. Just something to incentivise them to run.

In a similar vein, could have Brute/Thug fight clubs, where fighters with Metallic Arts are pitted against each other. Basically just abused fighters being profited off by rich people, while the fighters get scraps, just to get by. Again, it's less of a torture method and more of an unethical business scheme, but still great for taking advantage of others for personal gain.

What a… dark and twisted mind you have my friend

These do sound effective though

All fascinating concepts, but I'd say it depends on how difficult it is to store attributes, and how long it takes.
If it take like MASSIVE amounts of effort to store ferchemical Attributes, then I understand how this would be torture e.g. having to exert all your will to store heat as a firesoul.

But if it's kinda automatic, like how burning is in allomancy, then it wouldn't really be an issue for them; when they are first dipped into the meta, their legs would come out coated in Brass, allowing them to store heat without relying on being dipped into the brass.

Also, when they are eventually incase waist down in brass, i undestand how that in itself is torture, but they can store heat in the brass, so even if it is super hot it won't really have much of an effect.

It also depends how long it takes to store heat in brass; if it takes AN extended period of time, it's painful; but if it happens instantly.... they're chilling.

For the Windwhisperer, you could just give them drugs (like moss on Roshar) and that would work on everyone else as well. Also, many of these aren't very useful and um...are rather gruesome. However, they are very clever. (and drugs cost waaay more than tin)

Also, I think the Firesoul would die very quickly.
