"A criminal?" She raised an eyebrow. "They would lock down for that?"

"We don't want them getting off the station."

"You think someone is going to smuggle them off?"

". . . Miss, it's 74 GSD. And anyway, there are ways around those kinds of protection. I suggest you go to an emergency shelter."

The computer had been shut down upon lockdown.

Emergency sirens blared in his ears.

Olethros Deep Space Station.

Positioned just inside the Kepler Belt, it was originally used as a base for asteroid mining operations under Earth's jurisdiction. After the discovery and first contact of alien life, however, it became inhabited by many peoples, many not native to the solar system. It is now a popular trading hub where one can find many exotic goods.

A few million miles away rested the next closest station, the Hagion. Although this station was also originally meant to conduct mining operations, it was repurposed just before it's construction into a space where advanced civilizations could communicate more comfortably and securely.

But we're not here to talk about the Hagion. Our main focus should really be one the Olethros.

Because somewhere on the station, something stirred. Something small. Something crafty.

Something . . . hungry.

A rumble violently shook the station.

Emergency lockdown lights burst to life, illuminating everything with an eerie red glow. They directed the populace towards various designated emergency shelters.

The panicked crowds rushed towards them with no particular care for anyone else's safety.

Goomie fluted happily. Party!

hmm. Now that could be a problem. NoGard thought.

Oh no. NoGard woke up! Nogard thought.

I can hear you. Just give me control.

N-No! I remember the last time that happened!

We both know that was not my fault.

... Fine.

We both know you're in control here.

NoGard looked around the station. He seemed erily calm.

lol it's fine :D I'm just messin' with ya'.

Guards came, collected them all, and dumped them in the same emergency shelter as the sirens continued blaring.

It was nice enough. Some tables and food storage.

There was also a vending machine. Inside that vending machine was a very expensive-looking box. Maybe it had something important inside.
