Warning: dark and suizidal themes

  Hide contents

Jane was a girl from a real nice family

They're just what a family should be

Her parents would help her through all of her problems

So why did she still want to leave

Sam was a boy from the south side of town

His daddy had left 'fore he's four

His mama she loved him but sometimes got angry

And he didn't feel anymore

Jane knew she didn't have strength 'nough for it

Her shelter it just made her weak

So she started looking for someone to help her

Find out how to make it quick

Sam kept his head down and went through his life

And started to wonder what if

He started to want a way out of his future

And he started eyeing that cliff

They met out back of the school after hours

Both watching the edge of a knife

They talked and decided to wait and consider

What somebody else could make life

They had dark days but they helped to get through

Each holding the other one up

They talked every day and they clung to each other

But soon it just wasn't enough

Sam came home late one day caught up in traffic

And found the place empty and dark

He ran to the school to the woods sprawled behind

And found her with steel in her heart

Morning it broke over red and blue lights

And all that was left of two lives

Four men dressed in blue stood around hesitant

To move those with hands still entwined

Time in life is fleeting and it goes within a blink

The slow draw in and exhale out just gone not to return

Some can't find the reasons to hold on and carry through

Some fires slowly crackle and some fires quickly burn

I can't keep you here forever though I'll try my best

I know you'll choose the time to leave and sink into the deep

All I ask is for a promise kept while you stay here

Please try to make this world a better place before you leave

Ah!!!! So sad!!!!! And so good!!!!

I'm told this is the time to decide who I want to be

But I've just spent it tryna [phonetic for rhythm] be the man that others see

Each hour of the day I change my shape my lies my self

I'll wear a different guise between one second and the next

A thousamd different molds mark every version that they see

All stored inside my head, all catalogued and kept in reach

I'm a face-changer

Doppelganger

None of them is me

When I look in the

Mirror I don't

Know the man I see

I am one, I'm the

Other, I am

Somewhere in between

I can't keep shifting

It's so goddamn

Contradictory

I really love the rythym of this.

Title: something to do with colors idk. I'm consciously having to steer away from the rhythm of Muted Colors (Benjamin Steer)

You see the black and red and my God I can see them too
But how do I explain that there are more I see in you
I wish that I could trade my sight for yours and yours for mine
To show you all the colors that go dancing in my mind
Blue lines that dance between everyone I have ever known
And lead from them onward to more that I can never know
The green that dances in the eyes of children when they're seen
And gold within the eyes of parents proud of who they'll be
The purple on the air when some mischief is afoot

Idk I'll keep working on it. I gotta figure out a way to alter the known/know lines, 'cause I don't like the rhyming with the same word

Title: Bleed Out

  Reveal hidden contents

There's red on the ground
And red all around
And I greet the damned
With a smile on my face

The red it grows wide-
-er, some of it's mine
Someone meets my eyes
I know I go with grace

This world is violent and it's hateful
It will tear you and will break you
What can folks like you and me do
In the face of its fury
I know some people who have picked the
Spot they want to be their last, a
Place they'd fade out and they'd bleed out
In a great blaze of glory

I've heard this is dark
And breaks people's hearts
The end of the arc
Is a curse to foresee

If it will be true
I can't say to you
Known since 'twenty-two
It lies near my family

This world is violent and it's hateful
It will tear you and will break you
What can folk like you and me do
In the face of its fury
I know some people who have picked the
Spot they want to be their last, a
Place they'd fade out and they'd bleed out
In a great blaze of glory

The world it is messed
Up, we're on the edge
Of time of the reck-
-oning change needs to pass

No God up in Hea-
-ven sends our salva-
-tion we are the a-
-gents of change—time to act

This world is violent and it's hateful
It will tear you and will break you
What can dolks like you and me do
In the face of its fire
I've had my bleed out spot since 'twenty-
Two though I hope that I won't need
It but if it will turn that damn Wheel
I'll go out like a fighter

The red it grows wide-
-er, some of it's mine
Someone meets my eyes
As I smile to his face

For eyes like the sea
And love that won't leave
For him I will plead
Make this world a better place

Are you from Kansas? I mean if there's a huge narrative implied in the background it would be ironic and cool at once that another epic saga has direct or indirect Kansan themes (Oz, Dean/Sam Winchester, Superman).

Work in progress: this is possibly the chorus, maybe not. Regardless, it's the opening of the song

Spoiler

You only see the black and red and God I know the sight

The blood and shade of movie screens cannot compare to life

Two hues of color known to walk along the darker side

And they're both strong enough to loom and block out all the light

But grab the hooded cloak in hand and rend it all to shreds

And put your eye up to the parts of fabric where it rends

Beyond the muting influence of failures and regrets

A million shades of color dance the countless paths each wends

There's mischief and there's laughter in the plotting eyes of children

The purple sparks and dances at the edges of their vision

Their parents watch and smile as the children court disaster

And pride and love mix green and pink even as their hearts beat faster

The youthful taste of innocence gleams gold in children's smiles

Without the layered colors that come marching on as time does

You only see the black and red and God I know the sight

The bittersweet of sorrow colored grey outlines the sides

A dash of hazel marking change completed the grand design

An awful shroud of darker times to block the brighter light

But no dread power fierce and strange can truly stamp it out

For hope still lingers barely seen, by hues and shades not bound

The darkest times have had their end, in time all walls come down

Please trust in us to help you through, we won't leave you to drown

In eveningtime the sun’s last light flares orange with burning passion

Then fades and yields to night’s embrace, all darkening to ashen

But far above the moon shines down all bright and white and gleaming

A mark of what might come to pass, potential of what could be

Away beyond the touch of light the shadows sink and cluster

But at the edge the dark grows brown, no fear so much as trusting

Fine threads of blue drift in the wind and cross and weave together

The twining dreams of tapestries of what might be forever

The people bound together by the shimm’ring ropes of cyan

Adjust the warp and weft the threads shape in the blooming pattern

The past is fixed and locked in place by chains that can’t be broken

The future though spreads far and wide, a branching delta flowing

The path that sinks and carves in stone is that we choose to follow

The future holds our fear and doubt, but never will be hollow

You only see the black and red, and God I know the sight

I know you've heard these words before, but I beg you to fight

I know I cannot fight this war for you, it's not my right

But I swear when you ask I'll rise and fight right by your side

I once had made a promise, swore I’d stand by those I love

And I have yet to break that vow, I will not give it up

I choose my family not by their blood but by their trust

And once I tie myself to someone I won’t see them
