Will did so, coming into the room and sitting down. While he was listening to the man, he absentmindedly took stock of the room.

It was empty. Well, apart from a desk, two chairs, a bookshelf, and a potted plant.

“So, tell me what you wanted.”

"I got into this because I wanted to be better, smarter. You're not using me to the full potential that you could be - I want to head an experiment."

“What would you suggest?”

"Time. If we can make someone capable of rewinding time, every experiment, no matter how risky, can be performed. It may be impossible - it certainly is by my knowledge of physics, but I've heard stories of the other test subjects here."

“And how does that fit with the mission of these experiments?”

“We may have to modify the control…”

It was at least 30 stories tall.

He was asked to stand on a scanner.

"ok how to modify the control ?"  he asks

which is unusual, considering he is usually pretty chipper.

how long have I been asleep? He wonders.

“Quite simple. If you can set people back to the way they were before a catastrophic experiment, you can try again. In fact, you could test on people and reset them - and their memories, back to the way they were. This also serves as more verifiable immortality.”

"What makes you think any of our experiments are catastrophic? We're very careful."

“Didn’t you make someone who could pass through walls, but not always? Even if you are more careful than it seems, this person could enable more ambitious experiments which wouldn’t be.”

“We are very careful and monitor our experiments closely.”

“Very well. Now that I consider it, enhanced healing - or better, healing of others - has the same benefits and more applications.”

"You're it!" Vtras poked Ytis on the arm before running off like a 5 year old who saw the ice cream truck on the road.
