He wouldn’t be able to get out alone, and the entire compound was heavily secured.

First step would probally be to shock out my scientist whilst the guards changed their shifts. What do I do after? I can’t run they would surround and catch me. They have guns so I can’t fight back.

There were also security cameras and he could be tracked anywhere in the facility.
