The dark lord cackled. "We both know that's a lie, you're too young to have any such powers. And even IF you were able to defeat me, I would return, my hatred boiling anew, bringing me back." 

Casually he jabs lighting fast at Evinir.

Evinir jumped, and tried to leap away, but was too slow. He watched in shock as a streak of red appeared down his arm. The pain, stingingly hot, arrived a second later, and he screamed. Maybe someone would hear, and come help him.

Who was Wiz really? Clearly, he was no mere Idrian extremist, nor a Hallendren. And Elydir… before his death, he had mentioned a “Threnody” to Evinir in private. Despite the urgency of his situation, he couldn’t help but worry that he was dealing with Lowe’s far beyond his scope.

Evinir gathered his courage, raising his head resolute, and… nope. Nope, nope, nope. What was he doing? He wasn’t a hero.

Evinir’s arms turned to jelly, and he began to run down the palace steps, screaming for help.

@Ashbringer, I’m worried about @TwinStorm and @BridgeBoi. They haven’t posted for two cycles now; if they don’t come online, the votes will tie 1:1, and the villagers will lose because of breath.

No… NO!

”Starkeeper, run!” Evinir screamed. He turned back to Wiz. So it was true… he was going to be the final surviving Assmebly member. Funny. Evinir had never expected to live the longest. He was a coward. But he wasn’t a traitor.

Evinir leaped at Wiz, lashing out with his knife, aiming for the main artery. At least he would die a good man, after a life as an antihero.

A million thoughts raced through Evinir’s mind. His childhood, beaten up for his interests… his uncle, that screamed at him for being friends with that Hallandren scum… his sister, who was always a better person than he… and her death, four years ago, of an unidentified sickness. His hopes for the future; hopes he would never see played out. His drive, his plans, his fear. They all took over for a second. The weight of it all threatened to crush him, and it was only momentum that kept him going. Hadn’t it always been? A tear rolled down Evinir’s cheek.

And his knife hit flesh.
