Fr though, usually I just end up talking to someone based on similar interests. So like if someone has a pin on their backpack from a show or a book I like I'll be like, "Oh I love such-and-such thing! You're a fan, too?"

Or if we have the same class I'll ask why they wanted to take it or something

Or just ask about assignments in school; for assistance or otherwise. That's always a great way to make new friends

True I try not to laugh in public because what if its weird. Also I haven't really spoken the whole school year so if I tried to talk to someone now they'd probably be confused and think I was creepy but I'm switching schools so fresh start

I'd consider having friends to be a hobby. I use it to fill boring time in classes and breaks, and make events and fairs more fun. I don't love presentations and group discussions. Not really my strength, but I try to engage anyway to build that muscle.

I think people just naturally assume I'm completely absorbed in paying a lot of attention to my desk or something because they will say things - not very quietly - in hearing range that don't seem like something you want overheard.
