so, what does the “heat” on canticle count as? I know that they’re transferring investiture from one person to another. Is it an invested art? Does this count simply as a MOL?

also, on a related note, when a canclitian/cantilite (idk which is correct) transfers heat, do they do so based off a set measurement or is it proportional? For example, can canticlites transfer in set amounts (ex ~0.5 BEU’s) or only in proportion to their total investiture (ex 15%, which could vary greatly depending on who we’re talking about), or is it matter of choice between the two when they transfer heat?

MOB

Do you mean MoI (Manifestation of Investiture)?

Probably, but remember that MoIs on non-Shardworlds (worlds where a Shard is not in residence) is more of a Invested Environment situation. WoB:

Questioner

What differentiates a minor Shardworld like First of the Sun?

Brandon Sanderson

The amount of Investiture, and whether there is actually a Shard in presence.

Questioner

I'm assuming there is not one there?

Brandon Sanderson

There is not one there.

Questioner

So it's like a Splintered one from something else?

Brandon Sanderson

No what you'll find is that the worlds were all created with a level of-- a little bit of sort of ambient magic. What you'll find in worlds like that is things like, Shadows for Silence and things like this, the magic, it's not necessarily "people with magic" it's you can interact with nature...

Questioner

So there is inherent Investiture...

Brandon Sanderson

There is inherent investiture in every world created but you are going to see-- You aren't going to find Mistborn on a world like that but what you might find is a way there are magic aspects to the setting. Spren could exist on a world like that but they would be like the minor spren, you wouldn't find Syl, but you would find something like lifespren.

I do not think we have an official term yet - many still call them Threnodites. Probably the closest English equivalent would be Chile / Chilean; so i would probably go with Canticlean (can tik lay an) myself, until we have an official term.

We do not have this answer, that I can find. It seems more like a seeping that the person starts, then stops "when it feels right." It could be incremental (0.1 BEU, 0.2 BEU, etc.) or a percentage of available heat to the person (1%, 2%, 3%, etc). We simply have no data from which to extrapolate yet.

Hope that helps
