His breaths are quick and shallow, full of adrenaline. Well, that was one thing rope-sleeping had over an alarm clock- it was guaranteed to wake you up if you fell. He grips the rope, gritting his teeth, and climbs back up to the ledge where he'd been living recently. The hollowed-out husk of a drop ship certainly wasn't the best place he'd ever lived, but at least in this spot wildlife couldn't reach him. He reties the rope around the ledge, this time with a tighter knot. He was awake now, but it was still too dangerous to go outside to get food. So, he goes to the back of the ledge and sharpens his spear.
