RawToast225 he/him
Adolnasium needs to be destroyed as well as its aspects. In The Lord of the Rings, the way everything was resolved was magic being taken out of the world. In this, magic, shards, slivers, and all, will have to be abolished throughout the universe for true peace to be acquired. The shattering of the Almighty was a mistake. The only way to fix a mistake like this is to get rid of it and maybe start over to do it better. This is just a theory, but I'm fairly certain that it will have to happen for a true resolution. Lord Tavash Shar
Doubtful. Magic is the function by which everything was created. You could defuse it but I double you could "Destroy" it. Whats more it would re condense over time.

Thoughts? LotR resolution removed magic from middle earth, but it wasn't abolished throughout the universe... more to the point, even if you remove magic from the world, we humans have shown that we don't need magic to shatter a peace, so it might bring less destruction (until technology advances), but it won't bring peace necessarily. RawToast225 he/him
You know how in Thor they say that magic and tech is one and the same? That's what you made me think of. Magic doesn't corrupt, it makes amplifies. Just something to think about in relation to your point. Again, this was just a theory.
Moogle
Magic brings great things and terrible things. This theme is repeated over and over in the cosmere. Magic stands in for technology. The Metallic Arts on Scadrial mean no one has to die of cancer, for example, assuming Miles can survive the spiking. Tolkien presented a very negative view of technology in LOTR. The idyllic Shire ruined by technology pretty much sums it up. Brandon has thus far shown a much more nuanced view on the matter. Saying, "Well we should just completely destroy all technology" is a simple solution to a lot of problems, but carries enormous downsides. The only super serious problems come from Shards, anyways. There's gotta be some way to Splinter them all.
RawToast225 he/him
Excellent refutation of my theory! I agree with you, which is to say that I'm wrong. Thanks, Moogle!
Lord Tavash Shar
Moggle tends to have some of the Best thought out arguments and the most humility when he can be proven wrong. It's also nice that if he cannot prove you wrong he will entertain your notion and even find things that you cannot seems to for the life of you that ether prove or disprove your point. I Prefer him to the moderators of some boards.

I think this is awesome simply from the stand point that it presents Odium as a good guy lol
