so this is not actually my first introduction...

Hey there everyone

I've been reading all of Brandon's books for about 10 plus years. About 4 years ago I stumbled upon this website but totally forgot about it and never really hung out here much. I just recently thought about it and decided to check it out again and I'm not sure why I wasn't hooked from the beginning. So I'm here to stay now! I'm a huge reader of all genres but my fave is fantasy. And my favorite author is obviously Brandon Sanderson. I started with Mistborn, moved on to the Way of Kings and haven't left yet.

 

(Read everything except Wind and Truth. And War and Peace. and a few other books)

You are right its not all. I haven't gotten to Wind and Truth yet because I'm currently rereading to be up to date.

 Its way too hard to pick just 3 favourites but if you forced me to choose I'd say that Shallan, Rock, and Tress would be my current 3. If you get back to me tomorrow i'll probably have 3 totally different choices.

Clearly the correct move here is to blame Sanderson for creating so many awesome characters

As someone who is not an air-sick lowlander, Rock and Tress are great choices! Great to have you join us for real this time!

I used to, but it's hard to love her when half my friend group keeps complaining about her? It just puts me in a mental space where I'm tired of hearing about her, but I also didn't want to come out and say it because that's a rough thing to lay down in an intro thread

Tress is amazing. Would push the book to way more people!

Rock and Tress are definitely more upbeat but I love the complexity of Shallan and the different personalities too. i guess sometimes i need something a little darker

Honestly that's fair, and sometimes I don't want upbeat, I do want a darker character so I get it! I think it's just great that the Cosmere has all these varied characters for different moods, if I'm being honest
