anyways i like writing sometimes

and its one of my goals to learn how to draw something im proud of in 2025

so yeah theres that

anyways occasionally ill post writing stuff on here

or like motivation/quotes/anything from pinterest

ok so i found the motivation

i saw this piece of writing advice that was like

"don't write the book you want to write. write the easy book, so then you know how it feels to write a book."

since i've technically already written a first draft, this doesn't apply to me as much as it might apply to other people

still

i want to write a book that i enjoy

so im starting a new story using the hero's journey outline

and just writing an easy book

so then i can get some more experience in novel-writing before i attempt any of the larger-scale projects that i someday wanna do

guys guys guys i was rereading my first draft

AND IT HIT ME LIKE A BRICK

why it's so terrible

like in general im kinda picky

and like storywise its ok

BUT THEN

i was reading it

and i realized that there's no... heart to it

it's just a story

and it's all plot/dialogue and no actual characterization

the main character doesn't change much from the beginning

and there's no moral or theme or overarching message

i think i got so caught up in the plot that i lost the characters and what makes a story interesting

so now ima work on fixing that

hey guys i was bored this morning and i started writing a poem

it didn't take me a long time to write, but i feel like i did a pretty good job
