Master Silver Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I think El was the counterpart to Jezrien for a long time. At the Last desolation El, seeking to keep his friends and people from a cold oblivion of madness betrayed the Singers and helped keep 9 of the 10 Heralds alive. The Heralds rather than bring peace to the world enslaved the Singers after the false desolation. I think El is loyal to the new Odium but which Odium is hard to tell. El seems to appreciate the logical ruthless side of Odium which means if Odium's heart wins out El will betray him. The worst thing for the Cosmere is Dalinar ascending to Odium and Honor. Hear me out. Taravangian is a god divided. Logic and Passion, but never at the same time. Dalinar is The Blackthorn and Dalinar Kholin Bondsmith. The Blackthorn is the perfect avatar of Odium. Dalinar as a Radiant is bonded to the largest portion of Honor. So, I would argue he is a perfect Vessel for both Honor and Odium. Also, his honor would compel him to kill Cultivation so Navani can take up that shard, since you need to keep the marriage together.
AquaRegia he/him Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Looks like El vs Sigzil on the Shattered Plains, per Ch. 19: Spoiler “Windrunner Sigzil,” Dalinar said. “You take command of the Shattered Plains.” “…Sir?” Sigzil said. “We’ll want a Radiant in command there. I’ll send the Stormwall to back you up, and you can rely on our generals for tactics. But the Windrunners are our largest and most decorated group of Radiant soldiers. You should lead.” “Sir,” Sigzil said, saluting.
