We'll have to agree to disagree.  Intense hatred of something does not necessarily lead to planning, or intent to take action on that hatred.  Your definition refers to the feeling of odium, but does not speak to action.

That said, there are plenty of interesting suggestions here for Cultivation+Odium.  I am not set on Vengeance being the actual result.  Vengeance can be an odious act.  But Malignance also works really well.  Points also for Batman.

Best example I could give for real life cultivated hatred would be Feud.  As in the generational conflict between two families that has gone on so long that they don't remember the inciting event, just that the other party must be destroyed.  Vendetta would describe the action taken from the intent of Vengeance, but not describe the intent itself.  (I do like the idea of the shard of Vengeance having a Vendetta, or V for Vendetta if you will)

Someone asked the same question 7 years ago on an ESL site, and it lines up nicely with our discussion.  Wonder if the questioner was a Shard member: Link

So my take on the mixture of Cultivation + Odium might be a little different, but I think it would really align with what Venli and her ancestors were experiencing at the time. They were put in a difficult situation, and wanted to be free from it. One could say they "hated" the conflict, and so underwent changes to separate from it (quite literally, in the case of the singers who became the listener faction).

Due to that, I think Cultivation + OdiumAdversity. Not so much the misfortune that's implied by the definition, but rather representing the emotions and changes that can be brought about by adverse situations. You can grow stronger from (lowercase) adversity, or possibly the event(s) could do a number on you and you have "negative" growth. Adversity as an Intent would also be a parallel to War, in a way.
